I've noticed that when my service gets cut in an elevator sometimes it takes a few minutes for the 'no service' to switch back to the at&t logo even though I'm able to make calls. It's not super-annoying, but just wondering if you're referring to something similar

Are there other GSM carriers besides AT&T that support 3G on 850/1900 MHz right now? To my knowledge there aren't, except for perhaps a few regional MVNOs that probably lease bandwidth from AT&T anyway. So to take advantage of your unlocked wunder-Nokia's American 3G support, you'd have to pay the devil every month (directly or indirectly) just like iPhoners, correct?
True, you could cancel your service and leave at any time, but for what alternative? EDGE on T-Mobile?
And also, the N95 is, like, FAT and ugly and wouldn't fit in any of the pockets on my skinny jeans... Yes, style is more important than substance for some people, and you're free to bring that up as much as you want. I'd ask you, though, to try not to sound so judgemental about it.

Jan 3rd 2007 11:51AM Sure is shiny... I genuinely like the core elements of the exterior -- the proportions and lines, the front and rear graphics, and especially the grille (which actually seems very British to me; replace the angry-eye headlamps with four round ones and it's pure Bentley).
That said, the predictably macho-bling detailing of this concept, similar to the ALC concept that led to the XK, only betrays how [understandably] desperate Jaguar is for any kind of attention, and 'desperate' is the last word I think of when I think of a Jaguar. But hopefully they'll do as good a job with the production XF as they did with the XK.
I agree strongly with whoever mentioned the unfortunate 'clean-room' aesthetic: tone down the sci-fi attitude, de-chrome the wheels, change the interior lighting from blue to amber and lose the albino taillamps, and this could be a real seller. It's certainly a better execution of the fastback sedan scheme than the Merc CLS, which looks to me like a cockroach in a tuxedo.
