The editor-in-chief giveaway: Win Ryan Block's gadgets {Engadget}

Aug 22nd 2008 11:01PM Thanks for this. I will probably only keep the jawbone and likely donate the rest to my needy neighborhood school and kids community.

Aug 18th 2008 9:32PM Contacts lag seems to be gone. Thankfully.

iPhone firmware 2.0.2 is out... and angry {Engadget}

Aug 18th 2008 9:20PM The fix for contacts lag alone make this update worth it.

AppStore is on the way. How much are you willing to pay? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

May 21st 2008 9:23PM Without getting too off topic, the responses to this post speak volumes as to the general mentality of the populous today.

People think they deserve everything and expect it for next to nothing. In the same breath they demand that their worth be deemed a high value without reason. You can't have it both ways. If everything is free for the taking, then their is no value so don't expect it in return.

Good work ethic is a thing of the past. Sad.

May 21st 2008 9:07PM So, by saying you would rather "support" freeware, I'm guessing you are an actual and active contributor to open source development?

If you want to be simply a user, ie. customer, you have to pay. I always love how users bitch and moan over the vast majority of freeware simply because it is, as you say, "rough".

iPhone 3G's baseband chip revealed? {Engadget}

Apr 9th 2008 12:27PM Exactly. ZiPhone notes that is found "Gold3" which is the 8877. The 8877 is actually capable of a dual mode GSM/CDMA radio. Taken from the specs pdf:
"Configurable with a UMTS co-processor, S-GOLD3 extends into the growing 3G market, offering easy migration from a GSM/GPRS/EGPRS phone to a dual-mode wideband CDMA/GSM terminal."

So...wait, wait! Can I get the iPhone with Verizon!!! ;)

Feb 15th 2008 2:02PM My toyota has 4 wheels, an engine, transmission, a steering column and a whole bunch of other crap. Mr. Benz must be turning in his grave.

Apple TV (take 2), take two {Engadget}

Feb 12th 2008 10:09PM I don't understand how Ryan was able to get his HD movie watchable "within a minute."

I rented a HD movie at 8:00 and and was hoping I would be able to watch it tonight Unfortunately after around 25 minutes it was still not ready after reaching 11% downloaded. Booo!

Either this is server overload on a heavy night of the release, or they need to adjust the buffer.

Jan 30th 2008 8:08PM The UI looks really sweet. Pretty original actually. Can't wait to see more details...esp. price.
