iTunes activation servers go down, iPhone 3G customers being sent home unactivated, first-gen iPhone customers stuck with dead iPhones {Engadget}
Jul 11th 2008 2:34PM Glad I took the chance and installed the 2.0 update to my first-gen yesterday morning. Has been working just fine ever since, however, this morning when attempting to sync with iTunes I get extremely long "syncing contacts" bars (never seemed to actually finish) and it failed to copy over some free apps that I downloaded with iTunes. I'm sure things will get sussed out once the weekend is over. Hope not TOO many heads roll at Apple...
First Look: Exposure for the iPhone {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jul 10th 2008 9:26PM Hey Scott,
I loves me my Flickr too. Though, I was getting the following constant error messages after authorizing and launching:
"Failed on (null) because "Operation could not be completed. (kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 302.)"
On a separate note, does anyone else find it hard to read those vertically formated "recent activity" notifications on their iPhone?!

P.S. Loved the screen shot tip you guys posted earlier!

Sony offers Blu-ray trade-in deal for HD DVD owners, in Switzerland {Engadget}
Mar 4th 2008 10:18PM Here's my dilemma - I own around 20 HD DVDs and have no problem watching them on my XBOX 360 HD player. The problem is, I've been doing my best NOT to buy anymore HD DVDs and would like to start getting the newer releases on Blu-Ray, however, I'm not yet ready to shell out $500+ for a dual-format player. (This coming from an early adopter who bought both a Pioneer Laserdisc player AND a Sony DVD player for around $1,000 each when they first came out) Just getting sick and tired of formats becoming obsolete, yet I like to buy the box-sets for all the behind-the-scenes stuff. I just got an Apple TV and am willing to give it a go, but would also like to OWN future HD purchases in digital format, cutting out the need to restock a physical library once again. Raise your hand if you, too, chucked out over a few hundred VHS movies after not using your VHS player in over 5 years ;)
Resolved: iTunes movie rentals should offer an extended-time option {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Mar 4th 2008 11:26AM How 'bout let us have an entire 24 hours for the life of the rental, but not have to watch in WITHIN those 24 hours? That way, it can reside in our Apple TV library, watch a typical 2-hour movie 12 times, and then it expires.
