First Look: JetSet 1.1 for iPhone {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 28th 2008 11:31AM I've really tried to find the totally correct area to post this question, but sadly, failed. I have about 100 applications / icons on my iPhone. Is there any way to make / import empty folders, name them and place the individual programs into them, thereby sorting those programs and making them easier to find? Maybe page one could be like an index, where one can chose the next step.
John Mayer found cheating on Apple, again {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
May 16th 2008 3:05PM Who thinks (in earnest) that Tiger Woods drives a Buick? Doesn't mean he hates that thing, he just doesn't drive it. This Meyer fellow doesn't hate iPhones, he may even have one, but now he plays with a Blackberry. Next week, who knows. Leave the guy alone. He's young, got money and buys toys. Just like the rest of us. I've got 3 or 4 iPods, an iPhone and yet, I just bought an iPod Touch. Not because it's an Apple (even though most of my stuff is Apple for convenience and ease of use), but because my nephew has promised he can make it into something better. Apple or not (and I trust my nephew). One thing I'd NEVER buy is a Zune. I like Bill Gates and his generosity, but that Ballmer guy is too much of the chart.
iPhone: 90 Days Later {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 28th 2007 4:51PM Is it the currently prevailing hacker mentality the makes people obsessed with the locked part of the iPhone. One earlier post said it quite adequately. We knew all the rules, boundaries and regulations when we bought the thing and I, for one, was very happy and excited to take mine home and discover its features. I was in the UK when it was released and the day after I got back home I went and bought it. Recently, after the initial upset over the price drop I was quite pleased when the "refund" was announced. We used it as a partial payment for my wife's iPhone. Now we are both quite happy. We have two more months to go with Verizon (@ $89.00 a month) but enjoying the iPhone makes it worth it.
Verizon is so inflexible, so rules oriented,it's unbelievable. We have three lines with them. We got the third line for a special temporary situation. When we asked to take it out of our account, they want $175 each for the 2 x $9.99 family plan premature cancellation as well as $175 for the original line. So I pay two month and then GOOD RIDDANCE after about 20 years with Verizon.
Just enter their store, utter your phone number and your contract is either being renewed or extended for two more years. GREED @ it's worst.
Dell continues to extol Latitude XT by pulverizing rivals {Engadget}
Aug 12th 2007 10:43PM Such petty stuff. Shows how desperate M. Dell is to get any attention of any kind at any price. Childish grand-standing, why? To be taken seriously? Laughable.
More blurry pictures of the Palm Gandolf -- the Treo 800 series? {Engadget}
Aug 5th 2007 2:35PM So now that Palm is a non-entity and the Zone is Doune, what's going on next? Dell's or HP's?
Parallels virtual disk dance of pain {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jun 24th 2007 5:53PM All of a sudden, i am disappointed. A few months ago, i purchased parallels at my local Apple store. It worked great. until the upgrade. Now, nothing works any more. They want me to not only pay AGAIN, but now I'm supposed to re-enter the Parallel serial number and that endless MS Windows number. How idiotic is that. It's just an upgrade, for crying out loud. Parallels should have given a RED warning before all this happened. My original one worked just fine. What's the stupid upgrade doing for me, other than now getting me upset? I really thought Parallels was great. No more.
Ballmer on iPhone {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Apr 30th 2007 5:09PM I have worked with computers for more than two decades. I have made lots of money repairing junky "Windows" boxes. I've fixed lots of Macs, usually they suffered from "D.O.E." (dumb operator error).
So, I remember from early days there was an IBM CEO or president or something who said that there would only be very few, like 5 or 6 personal computers world wide. Mr. Ballmer is directly related to this wise man.
Infamous MacBook WiFi hack demonstrated, dubious code to go public {Engadget}
Mar 2nd 2007 6:45AM This fellow was just trying to get his 15 minutes of fame, he didn't even deserve 5 minutes, though.
Aussies disregard the law, continue yapping while driving {Engadget Mobile}
Dec 13th 2006 10:42AM Here in NJ, USA it's the law: Hands Free Only. No one, including State Troopers (our "good example" SuperCops) abide by that law.
This just has to be the least enforced law in the country. Even though my wife and I both have built-in car phones, we still try to use them as little as possible. Two years ago we got hit by a woman driving while her brains were connected to a cell phone. Once I had got my wife and myself out of the totalled car and the ditch, that woman was ON THE PHONE. On her way to the median she had hit yet another woman. Both stood next to each other, on the phone. Obviously neither one cared what had become of us.
How on earth could we ever manage before those cell phones????
