Letterman's head writer faces sparking, smoking PowerBook adapter {Engadget}

Jul 13th 2007 11:29AM I can guarantee I never treated the cord in an improper way.
I always pay attention to it, but it suddenly happened.
the light on the safemag went off, and the cord started burning.
I was told that the issue is not a manufacturing one and the power supply can't be replaced.
oh, did I mention it happened to 3 of us during the past 2 months?
I bought a new one and I don't really care, but I store the old till the moment they realize it's their fckup and I can get a new one.

Second Apple Store planned for Italy {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

May 24th 2007 4:43AM hi, guys.
I come from that area of italy and I can swear there's never going to be any apple store in there.
I'm sure that italian site is pouring bsht.
first of all:
the place is in the middle of nowhere. it's such a lost venue that apple would never plan to even open an authorized dealer.
second:
in the south of italy, even in cities like naples, it's not the easiest place to find a mac.
you can go to Fnac in the center of naples and want to buy an apple laptop, they tell you "we only have this" (the display one, with dirty fingerprints etc).
third:
in the south of italy, there's probably one mac user on 500. there's no mac knowledge at all.
I hate to say that because I'm from there, but everytime I pull out my macs in public people look at me as if I'm an alien.
"What windows is this?" is what I got most of the times when people saw my screen.

now, do you believe a useless italian blog so much you have to appear like a "monkey see monkey do" blog?

I'd love to be proven wrong.
regards,

Push IM feature in iPhone/iChat Mobile? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Dec 17th 2006 4:33PM definitely a contact on bonjour.
it was quite stupid to keep 2 separate windows for them.
they just woke up and let you identify the contacts with a simple icon.
why did it take them so long and...
how do you get so fast to an iPhone conclusion?
push?
guys... u sure have a quite developed fantasy.
interesting.

Nokia N95 reviewed {Engadget Mobile}

Nov 25th 2006 3:29AM the model I've had my hands on for just a few minutes was a late prototype.
the GPS and wiFi were working although with no satellite coverage (we were on a train, constantly moving and under galleries).
the screen was amazingly bright and no, it definitely doesn't have the processor the N73 uses.
the thing is fast, although I really don't like the double slide, nor the fact that every device has to have an audio player controller.
It's faster than my E61, and the not really relevant glitches are to be gone very soon.
I hope I'll have my hands on a better one soon.

Nokia wants you to bump your music transparently {Engadget}

Nov 2nd 2006 2:55AM I spotted this at helsinki's flagship opening.
nokia invited a group of break dancers to party outside the store playing music off an N91 through this boombox.

Greenpeace creates mock Apple homepage {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 26th 2006 8:42PM oh... how much these kind of people like to judge.
I wouldn't have such a good life without my 7 macs.
greenpeace, on its side, is letting some species of animals be hunted because, according to their research, it's not in danger.
maybe it doesn't pay as much as whales?
how much would you "donate" monthly for a tiny bird?
how much for a WHALE?
I'm keeping my bucks, people, and spend them on macs.
screw greenpeace.
peace.

First impressions: buying a game from the iTunes Store {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 13th 2006 10:53AM I bought bejeweled more to understand how the game's made, if it's doable on your own etc.
this is a great step, and hopefully apple will give us tools to develop our own games/apps

I've uncompressed a game using stuffIt and this came out

let's hope for a brighter future
