BlackBerry Storm review {Engadget}
Nov 20th 2008 2:42AM So in short, it could be improved by being an iPhone? I'll give you the UI/hardware problems you have, but basically nothing on the Storm was better than the iPhone? The camera wasn't better? The NETWORK wasn't better? I'm sure you've got 3g speeds in whatever metropolis you're in, but outside of that, AT&T's HSPA coverage is absolutely terrible.
Whatever. I'm not some Verizon fanboy but man, you guys really love anything associated with Apple.
BlackBerry Storm review {Engadget}
Nov 20th 2008 2:35AM I read some Blackberry release where they said they just plain didn't have the room or they would have included it. It's got a ton of radios in it. Evidently they couldn't squeeze in just one more. Of course it's the big one.

Nov 20th 2008 2:29AM Dude, don't do it. The Dare is really a piece of shit. I've known several people who have them, and they're really terrible phones. The touchscreen is kind of unresponsive, the UI is quarky, and they are terribly unreliable.

Nov 20th 2008 2:25AM It's a Verizon exclusive, but like all these exclusivity agreements, if VZW doesn't meet their sales standards, it will then be available on other networks, likely AT&T. But really, I don't see this happening. This is about the only phone Verizon has going for it. They got rid of any nice, cheap flip phones, and have moved to having a huge stable of lackluster touchscreens. I think this will probably be the best phone they've got. That and the enV2.

Nov 20th 2008 2:20AM Pushed it out as fast as possible? Must not be a verizon customer. Verizon is many things, and one of those is slow. They "test" the hell out of their phones before releasing them, or so they say.
But as far as Mac compatability goes, I don't thing Blackberry really does that at all, on any phone, on any carrier.
MS announces holiday bundles, free Netflix trial {Xbox 360 Fanboy}
Oct 10th 2008 6:09AM So what do you think Microsoft's idea is with having kid games with the Elite. To my knowledge, the elite is for the ultra game nerds. Little kids get the arcade or the pro.

Jun 9th 2008 3:17AM the latest and greatest in the linux phone world and they have the cover to hollywood ending on them? that movie was terrible.
Shady business practices work: Apple dramatically increases Safari users {Download Squad}
May 1st 2008 11:39PM I'm going to have to disagree. While people didn't really have a choice as to what OS was installed on their pc when they bought it, it's not the same as the Mac-Safari thing. You get Windows, you get their group of software. You get Apple, you get their group of software. So windows got to where they are today by having DOS, being used by businesses, and being cheaper than Apple.
But to say that getting "bonus" downloads when apple releases it's seemingly weekly itunes update is the same as buying a computer with pre-installed applications. When you buy a mac it comes with itunes and safari, not IE and WMP.
The second-gen iPhone: 3G, GPS, only slightly thicker {Engadget}
Apr 26th 2008 2:55PM ya meen. the only reason i said that is because i was trying to show that i'm not some apple fanboy. really though, and you're not really any different, apple users are smug. you're calling people idiots because they want to send mms? is that really such a grand request to ask of a cell phone? same with 3rd party apps, 3g, etc. now personally i dont think the iphone is really a smart phone, more of an extremely well developed feature phone. as such i dont think it really should have apps and such. but with 3g they did drop the ball. all you say is "wait two months." or maybe it will be "wait six months" cause no one knows with apple.
and im not saying that's a bad thing. it sucks to be the consumer, but from a business standpoint and certainly a media relations standpoint, it's fucking genius. but whatever. being the serene voice of reason, i would say that black people are equal to white people. i'd also say that the iphone isnt perfect, though it probably comes as close to perfection as any other phone.

Apr 26th 2008 12:50PM can't we all just get along? fanboys: quit using these stupid excuses for why the iphone doesnt have things. no mms is a really big deal. my phone from like six years ago did mms. it's not some new technology that apple maybe couldnt squeeze in or something. yeah you can use email but why the hell doesnt it have mms? same with 3g. at&t had 3g for years before the iphone came out. they couldn't include it? i get that it has wifi but wifi wont help if you arent near a hotspot.
winmo guys: the iphone browser is great. sure skyfire and the new opera, whenever they come out, will be nice, but they arent here yet. and skyfire, from what i've gathered, will be a huge resource hog since it is a full blown browser. and while i'll admit i havent used EVERY media player, i've yet to see anything better than what apple does.
but what do i know, i'm pretty much impartial, so how the hell would i be able to bring reason to the argument. it's like politics. you have to pick a side and blindly defend it or you dont know what you're talking about. please.
and if i can level a personal attack, yes the non-removable battery is a problem. yeah i get it the ipod doesnt have one either, but that doesnt make it right. just because people buy something doesnt mean they give full approval on everything that device has. if people want to put apple on a pedestal, apple should live up to it. if they announced the new iphone would have a removable battery, everyone would be like "oh that's really cool, i'm glad they finally did that." but until then it's more like "you dont need it." bullshit.
i'd love to find an iphone user that has a single fucking issue with the phone. or more specifically, i'd love to find an iphone user that WILL say they have a problem with it. i love linux more than any other os i've ever used, but it still has all kinds of problems. nothings perfect. except the iphone, of course.
