Jul 25th 2008 12:17PM That is why clueless consultants are paid so much, and the analysts who are even more clueless even more and not to mention the investment bankers who buy these reports to run out to buy stock based on these reports.... and the country still runs?

Jul 15th 2008 11:19AM That's approximately 33 MPG for the petrol and 38 MPG for the diesel... that's a pretty good step up. Even if EPA estimates are different they would probably be proportional.

May 8th 2008 7:38AM @Holdyour Nose...
No kidding, most people I know watching surgery for the first time can hold their own till that electro-cautery comes out. That smell... kind of like burned hair and a burned out transformer in one is the best I can describe it.

Rumormill: 2009 Acura TL coming in 2 flavors, gets AWD {Autoblog}

I agree with you... Sports cars are by definition rear wheel drive. That is what I was trying to make J understand. And also the fact that as far as cars go "Sports" is not the same as "Sporty".
RWD hands down handles better on dry pavement. No questions, I agree with that too.
As far as technologically superior... that is a matter of debate. The compact packaging, transverse mounting and trying to get the half-shafts remotely the same size took a while to refine. Yes, there are real simple examples of FF layout in Museums that I have seen from much earlier... thus I am going to leave it as debatable. I believe they caught on in the 60's with Citroen or Saab (not very sure) in Europe.
@J
I told you, you'd make a good politician. Just because I actually did read what you wrote and picked it apart, you are trying to get other's sympathy by getting mad, and telling the world so.

Apr 14th 2008 8:38AM Zane, thanks, that is exactly what I said... "they all make FWDs" and not "All they make are FWDs".
And that gussied up Camry that is the ES, is what J should be upset about, because it fits a lot of his arguments. But it still sells quite well doesn't it?

By suggesting that the TL is "sporty car" and therefore should be rear wheel drive you made evident that you don't know the difference between "sporty" and "sports".
Marketing type? Now I know what YOU are smoking! When did the TL become the Accord counterpart? The are not the same platform, not even the same EPA size classification.
From when did RWD become technologically superior to FWD? Ford Model-T anyone?
I say the Nissan GT-R is much sportier (and a real sports car) compared to the Infiniti G35 or G-coupe. Now mister marketing type... is that laughable?
Sure I will compare, what about Saab, Volvo, Lexus and Lincoln/Mercury (yes, Mr. Marketing... they are the "luxury" equivalents of Ford). They all make FWDs.
End of the day... J you would make a good political speech writer. You know how to spin a story quite well. I am sure your arguments will be well received on Consumer Reports, but there are lot of enthusiasts on this site who know what they are talking about... no dice.
