Black Friday: Wii crowned, economy still down {Joystiq}
Dec 2nd 2008 12:04PM The Wii has no intrinsic value. Aside from the 4 or 5 decent Nintendo titles the damn system is nothing but a platform for soccer-mom (aka casual gamer) marketed shovelware. Even Nintendo is slacking at this point. What do Wii owners have to look forward to between now and next Christmas? Wii Sports Resort? Punch-Out? and....
Oh Wait that's it. Of course you could always kill time waiting for the next 1st party title to come out by playing sweet 3rd party games like "Merv Griffin's Crosswords" and "Rig Racer 2". Maybe "Gallop Racer" or "Petz Dogz Fashionz" would be better.
(Those are all real 3rd party games for the Wii)
Face it. For every 1 good game that comes out for the Wii, there are 100 shovelware pieces of garbage that get pumped out for the system.

Dec 2nd 2008 11:58AM Wii's are not hard to find. People are just dumb and don't know where to look. They assume that because the Big Box stores are out of them, no one has them.
If these retards would take the time to go shopping more than one damn day out of the year, they'd find that they could have walked into a store and got a Wii AND Wii Fit a week earlier for the same damn price.

Dec 2nd 2008 11:54AM I don't get this whole "Wii systems in short supply" thing. Go to Gamestop people. They stocked up on them big time before Black Friday, and just about every store in the Columbus, OH area still has 10+ in stock.
Everyone assumes that just because Best Buy and Wal Mart sold out of the 50 or so they had, that everyone is out of them. Gamestop's got 40 some odd stores in the Columbus area, and there's maybe 4 or 5 Best Buys and Wal Marts. Do the math.
Wii Fit is another story though.

Dec 2nd 2008 11:48AM I heard that the US version is supposed to come with Resident Evil: Degeneration on Blu-Ray with the PS3 version, and on DVD with the 360 version.
Rumors are Rumors though.

Nov 24th 2008 11:55AM I totally have the look of a homicidal maniac on my face every time I'm slicing up some chicken for the grill. This game looks pretty realistic.
You know, because everyone who eats meet looks like Chucky while they are cooking.
Gamestop: Good luck getting a Wii this Christmas {Joystiq}
Nov 21st 2008 11:03AM I work for gamestop, and this guy is just saying that because half of the damn gamestops in the US are currently sitting on at least 30 of the damn things in their stockroom and have been for almost 2 months. I'd take photos if it didn't cost me my job, but after I unpacked all the systems we got in yesterday in addition to the ones we had, the pile was taller than me, and I'm 6'3".
I'm calling BS here. The Wii demand is still high, but not high enough to exhaust the ridiculous amount of stock we have. We even have giant signs in the door that say "Wii In Stock" and answer the phones by saying "Thank you for calling Gamestop, where we currently have Wii's in stock" and we still can't move more than 3 or 4 on a Weekday and maybe 6 or 7 on a Saturday or Sunday.

Metareview -- Left 4 Dead (360) {Joystiq}
Nov 18th 2008 3:27PM This game is phenomenal. I disagree with your opinion. The game runs liquid smooth, I have yet to experience one clipping error, and of course the enemies are bullet sponges. There fucking zombies.

take into account that likely 95% of that installed base is using a PC with on-bard graphics, and your "user-base" shrinks quite considerably. So long as the price for merely a graphics card is the price of at least an 360 Arcade, your arguement holds no ground. When I can buy a PC in 2005, and then use the same PC to fully enjoy my games 4-5 years later without having to dump $400-500 into my PC for upgrades, then I will consider the PC installed base to be equal or greater than a console.
