The Treo Pro makes its video debut, inches towards launch {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 19th 2008 12:37PM This looks like it's going to be a great device. With the new 7201A chipset driving the 320x320 display and Palm's WM tweaks, this should have great performance. For the first time, I'm tempted to buy a Palm WM device. And yeah, it probably helps that HTC is making this.

Motorola Atila gets leaked: think Alexander sans QWERTY {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 11th 2008 1:51PM Moto, come on, if you're using the 7201 chipset, you gotta give it a VGA screen. The Touch Diamond becomes a lightning fast speed machine if you take off TouchFLO 3D. If you're not using a custom UI, VGA would be a breeze for that chipset. And even with a custom UI, that chipset can still handle the load. Also, what's up with the conqueror phone names?

Bell first out of the gate with CDMA Touch Dual {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 8th 2008 7:53PM I gotta admit, I do kind of like the Touch Dual's form factor.

Microwave process could cut cost of lithium-ion batteries {Engadget}

Jul 30th 2008 8:07PM Right. Another innovation. I've been hearing about these innovations for years now, and I still have to put up with 1100 mah batteries in smartphones. I know I'm being impatient here, but every university and company out there keeps giving us news of some new breakthrough and nothing has changed.

New York City officially gifted with Verizon's FiOS TV: 100 HD channels {Engadget HD}

Jul 28th 2008 10:57AM Yeah, that's a nice press release and all, except for that little part where they still tell me it's not available in my area and won't be for some time. I live in the Gravesend section of Brooklyn, NY, listed as having FiOS. Admittedly, I live somewhat on the border of Gravesend and Bensonhurst, but still, I've never even seen one of those FiOS trucks around here.

Samsung's i8510 inspires 8 megapixels of awe {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 13th 2008 11:22AM Well...it doesn't have HSUPA...and, the screen is not VGA. Those are the only two things I could think of. And oh yeah, does it have an FM transmitter? And does it support RDS/TMC on the FM radio? I'm just trying to find anything here...

Willcom's full Summer '08 lineup {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 8th 2008 10:46AM Do you even NEED that much pixel density on a screen that's 3+ inches in size? Stop rubbing it in, Japan!

T-Mobile first to blanket UK in HSUPA {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 3rd 2008 10:59PM Hey, that's great, now if only T-Mobile USA could do the same...

Sony Ericsson's TM506 for T-Mobile spied in FCC pages {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 18th 2008 8:56PM The TM506 today, the X1 and C905 tomorrow! (Right?)

More T-Mobile Vario IV specs only reinforce the X1 comparisons {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 1st 2008 6:33PM Yeah, after thinking this over, I'd say I'll go with the X1. Widescreen, HTC-built, Sony-designed, and the supposed existence of a possible future 1700 MHz-rocking version. I'm also hoping they got the whole graphics-acceleration thing down. Obviously the build in that theunwired.net video was in the earlier stages, but that thing was begging for some acceleration. Here's to hoping HTC and Sony get the most out of that Qualcomm chip set and give us a 1700MHz version to boot.
