Colbert's top threat of the week: killer iPhones. Solution: buy a Zune. {Engadget}
Aug 16th 2008 3:24AM What's the point in a comment like this? I own an 80gb Zune, and very much enjoy it. I had an iPod Touch for a few months and enjoyed it, too. No doubt Microsoft is struggling to get the Zune off the ground, but that doesn't make it a bad product. Remember that the harder other companies try to compete, the better all the products get. Win, win for us consumers.
This was one damn funny Colbert Report, I must say. Anyone else cringe the other night when he ham-handedly slapped the touch screen repeatedly with his knuckles like an ape trying to work a computer? Finesse, Colbert! FINESSE!
iriver's P10 shipping in December? gimme gimme gimme {Engadget}
Nov 5th 2007 11:22AM Justin - they used to make hard drive players. . . but you're right, lately I haven't seen a single one from them.

Oct 17th 2007 5:22PM I'm seeing a lot of complaints about battery life here. 4 hours on what appears to be a REMOVABLE battery in a device this slim? Sign me up.

Sep 11th 2007 7:04PM I am personally tired of the rounded plastic look. This reminds me of a Zen Vision: M. It looks toy-like and to agree with "newgalactic", that empty space in the center does look wasted - even if it lends itself to a cleaner look. Personally, I like my soft-keys as close to the screen as possible. Interesting design choices on this one.

Aug 28th 2007 2:28PM 16gb WITH a standard SD card slot? That's just golden. SDHC or not, you're looking at AT LEAST 20gb in flash player. I'll TAKE it.

Aug 7th 2007 2:47PM I couldn't disagree more, Pablo. If you're a person who doesn't want to follow the story as it happens, and you come to the site to get the full recap, you'd get the story BACKWARDS following your logic. I wouldn't want that. Especially if there are spoilers. Endgadet's method is the most intuitive way of live reporting along a timeline of events.

Jul 27th 2007 1:40PM Now if we can just get a size comparison photo of that PMP next to the other coins of the world. . . . For all I know, that coin could be the size of the 'ol US 50 cent piece.
Sony unveils world's first, ugliest HD Video Walkman {Engadget}
Jul 26th 2007 1:46PM Hey CharlieX - I really do think this is intended for at least a semi-pro audience. If you're shooting HDV that you care about enough to review in the field between shoots - you're probably not just a consumer shooting home videos.
I'll be very surprised if this device actually does carry the consumer-based "Walkman" name when launched.
Music on the phone: not many do it {Engadget Mobile}
Jul 16th 2007 2:37PM Completely agree, Greenlight. I'm in the US - but the only way I can get the ease of use I want with a music phone (Sony Ericsson w810i) is to buy it unlocked. It's a simple drag & drop with the supplied USB cable (though I go the faster route of using a memory card reader.) Beautifully simple.
