Twitter founder Jack Dorsey's Squirrel project revealed... as the Square iPhone Payment System {Engadget}

Oct 17th 2009 8:55PM One question - based on that photo, does it seem the dongle plugs into the headphone jack? Or am I just not seeing the cable? Seems like a clever bit of tech if it is, but why not just plug it into the dock port?

Sprint debuts "Simply Everything" plan for $99 a month {Engadget Mobile}

Feb 28th 2008 11:09PM Note that PAM (Sprint's term for tethering) isn't included in the new $99 plan. Not only that, it's apparently unavailable as an add-on, at any price. What's a tethering Blackberry user gotta do to catch a break 'round here?

Ask Engadget: Can a NAS device really change your life? {Engadget}

Oct 5th 2007 5:51PM Actually, you don't even need the VNC. Azureus has a web-based UI plugin that comes in both Java and straight-up HTML flavors.

Jun 8th 2007 3:29PM Really, the only thing that could improve on the typing experience would be one of those frickin' laser beam keyboards. Yeah. Or maybe something that actively blanks the screen just before I press a letter.

Clearly some folks just don't appreciate good sarcasm. :)

May 25th 2007 3:57PM Endless DJ sets by Gilles Peterson. Seriously, the guy's got an ear.

Consumer Reports looks at the 60-inch Vizio VM60P plasma {Engadget HD}

Mar 30th 2007 2:29PM Because there's no such thing as 768p HDTV content. The broadcast standard is 720p - 1280x720. Yes, 768p more accurately describes the resolution of the panel, but unless you're using it as a computer monitor you're watching scaled 720p content.

Microsoft announces HP MediaSmart Server powered by Windows Home Server {Engadget}

Jan 8th 2007 5:08PM Is anyone else concerned by comments that WHS will use something 'RAID-like' for data reliability? Seems like crypto and disk redundancy are the sorts of things it's best not to re-invent if you don't have to...
