BlackBerry 8830 World Edition announced for Verizon, Sprint {Engadget Mobile}
Apr 25th 2007 11:56AM It'll need a sim card, just like any other GSM phone. When you take it internationally, there's a setting that you hit to change it to GSM mode. And if it's anything else like the other VZW global phones, it will, by default, be locked to a Verizon Wireless/Vodafone sim card.

Apr 21st 2007 1:30AM Also, pretty sure it doesn't support expandable memory either. No point to it with the lower quality camera and lack of music functionality.
Emotive's Push Ringer overrides ringtones, pranksters overjoyed {Engadget Mobile}
Apr 21st 2007 1:27AM There had damn well better be a way to disable this on the receiving end. I'd strangle the person that tried this crap on me. I already won't call/hang up on people with ringback tones.

Apr 20th 2007 9:08PM You sure about that camera? Last I knew, the "300k" camera that's listed on the spec sheet is nowhere near "2 megapixel".
CE-Oh no he didn't! Part XXIX - Apple sez free phones are worthless {Engadget Mobile}

Feb 6th 2007 1:05PM *yawn*
Yet another mediocre Samsung handset. Giant "who cares".
"Could be a winner unless it's saddled with verizon's custom-crippled OS."
Of course it's got the VZW UI. Why would it not?
Verizon and Novatel launching USB720 Rev A modem tomorrow {Engadget}
Feb 3rd 2007 2:55PM Debates on the VZW data plans aside, I can say that Rev-A is pretty slick. I got to play with the USB720 (in a non-official Rev-A city, no less), and the speed test was impressive. 1.1mbps down, 432kbps up. Not bad at all.
LG VX9900 (enV) to launch on November 27th {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 20th 2006 2:03AM Worth mentioning is that the vx9900 (enV? Seriously, why?) will support more bluetooth profiles than any other VZW handset out there, including "file transfer", "Audio Video Remote Control Profile", and "Human Interface Device Profile", among others. We'll see if "file transfer" includes full OBEX, but it's a good start.
