Motorola VE70 Cocktail Mint and Cocktail Tropical: best served shaken {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 11th 2008 3:35PM It's for Korea... at least the variant in that photo.
MacBook Pro requires logout to switch graphics modes {Engadget}
Oct 14th 2008 7:28PM Hmm... My Sony VAIO SZ has the speed/stamina switch, but it requires a complete restart to take effect. A pop-up dialog window says exactly that when I flip the switch (and offers to restart now or restart later.) The switch seems easier than a buried control-panel setting, although in all honesty I don't flip it much. However if I only had to log out, that would be an improvement over restarting.
BlackBerry Storm bows, comes next month to Verizon and Vodafone {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 8th 2008 3:04AM No, the GSM 850/1900 is strictly for roaming in Latin America, etc. The roaming configuration does not allow roaming on domestic US GSM carriers.
Griffin unveils AirCurve acoustic amplifier, Clarifi case for iPhone {Engadget Mobile}
Sep 18th 2008 12:34AM I dunno... speakerphone volume is probably my #1 complaint about the iPhone 3G. If this works, I might buy it.
The case with built-in macro lens is a great idea. I can think of MANY situations in the past month where that would have come in handy for me.
Sanyo's Katana Eclipse flip phone lands at Bell Mobility {Engadget Mobile}
Aug 12th 2008 7:25PM That's a photo of the orig. Katana, not the Eclipse. The Bell site is showing the wrong photos in the photo pop-up thing. The main Bell spec page is showing the correct photo, but only of it open.

May 30th 2008 8:27PM Excellent! Lilliputer definitely gets my vote.
BlackBerry 9000 in the wild {Engadget Mobile}
Mar 28th 2008 10:26AM Seriously... I am sick of every new phone since the iPhone blatantly copying the glossy-black-face-with-rounded-chrome-trim look.
FCC Fridays on (very) temporary hiatus {Engadget Mobile}
Mar 8th 2008 12:48PM I hope this isn't inappropriate, but since the FCC site is STILL down, may I humbly mention Phone Scoop's list of phones approved by the FCC this week?

Verizon wisely renames the Samsung U940 to "Glyde" {Engadget Mobile}
Feb 25th 2008 8:38PM @Sean - sure, but every other phone these days is a slider phone. "Glyde" says almost nothing about what makes this phone unique. It's a finger-touch phone with a QWERTY keyboard - that's a big deal. A sensible name would have alluded to that. Marketing the slider mechanism as the star attraction is - these days - like saying "HEY LOOK, it's a phone you can TALK on! Wow!"
Verizon wisely renames the Samsung U940 to "Glyde" {Engadget Mobile}
Feb 25th 2008 3:45PM Q-Ball was a terrible name, but I'm not sure "Glyde" is any better. It doesn't sound good, doesn't make sense, and isn't that a brand of dental floss or something?
