Oct 23rd 2008 11:13AM Guys who say they are going to go get an iPhone instead based on price....
We have 3 iphones in my family, one 2g and two 3g. Everyone in my family is waiting for the Bold because they hate their iphones. The iphone 3g system doesn't smoothly switch between networks and towers, and you are left with no carrier for minutes at a time. EVEN with 2.1 OS.
That coupled with the poor email tools for batch delete, and the copy past problem...CAN'T WAIT for another blackberry. Carried one for years. LOVE them.

Sep 22nd 2008 3:35PM I looked up the first mention and accurte descriptions of the Blackberry 9000 with 3G just for fun. I was curious how long it's been and we still don't have it.
I was able to find mention of the "Bold" as a 9000, with 3G and accurate stats, as far back as early 2007.
For those of you living under a rock, it will be 2009 very soon.

And where are we supposed to get this fabled "Bold". I talked to an at&t rep last week (business sales mgr) and he said "Definetly not October for the Bold. We are thinking right around the Holiday Season - Late November/early December"
Rumor has it that at&t refuses to accept the phone until the 3g chipset has been changed out because it isn't jiving with their network.

First, we have 3G iphones. The bluetooth chipset is different than your 2g.
Also, the phone is seamless with the iDrive. Works perfectly, until you make a call. The audio echo for both parties makes it unusable.
Its a known issue - extremely widespread. The 2g phones work great. Even BMW knows about it. I called BMW last night and they basically said "we are aware of it - good luck - there is no known fix"

Just because your 1971 Nova doesn't have bluetooth built in doesn't mean only the rich have it.
Did you know that bluetooth headsets are mandated by law in California? Almost every new car made has a bluetooth option these days.

Sep 12th 2008 11:17AM No bonehead, 90% of new cars have bluetooth capability. Even the Honda Accord and Camry have BT capability.
My wife and I each have a 3-series BMW.. We aren't rich - we WORK for a living.
The 2g iphone works fine. This is a large known issue.
Has nothing to do with car stereo. They broke it when they released OS 2.0.
