REPORT: Fiat may use next Chrysler 300 platform for Lancia, Maserati {Autoblog}

Oct 28th 2009 6:46PM They build Wranglers with diesels today. They just don't sell them in the US market. I went to a car show at the Toledo North Jeep plant (where most, if not all Wranglers are made), and Chrysler had one on display. I'd love to have one over the dog 3.8 that's in my wife's Unlimited. Fun to drive, unless you are in a hurry....

REPORT: GM aims for 44 mpg from 2011 Chevy Cruze XFE {Autoblog Green}

Oct 20th 2009 8:02PM Well the car in the photo that accompanies this story is not going to be the finished product. GM has a habit of decontenting cars to squeeze the mileage out of them. You can be sure they'll take as much weight out of the Cruze as possible to get the mileage. While its okay for some, I personally hate to drive a stripped down model just to get a few more MPG.

Verizon asks 'if the iDoesn't, what does?' {Engadget Mobile}

Universally reviled by whom? Part of why I moved to ATT was the problems I had with Verizon coverage. I carried ATT/Cingular AND a Verizon phone around for over 2 years. I'll be happy to point out to you where Verizon is lying on their "theres a map for that" map of Michigan. My ATT coverage in the Ohio/Indiana/Michigan areas is better. I'll also be able to point out parts of Florida for you as well. Still can't figure out why I had no Verizon signal in parts of the Florida Keys or on the Ohio Turnpike, just for example.

As others have said, the market shift to ATT must be concerning to Verizon.....

You can listen to music via the ipod while accessing other apps. I do it all the time.

Verizon's anti-iPhone gets its first commercial: 'Droid Does' {Engadget Mobile}

Oct 17th 2009 11:26PM That's great for your T-Mobile, but we're talking Verizon here. If T-Mobile were to come out with a deal that allowed me to bring my iPhone over and use their European network at a reasonable price, I'd be listening. Only problem is that a coworker of my wife has T-mobile here, and has no signal whatsoever at her office in suburban Toledo.

Oct 17th 2009 11:23PM Yep, been to Germany and Austria in the past month. Not to mention Canada. Funny that I usually wind up on Vodafone's network in Europe, which is something a Verizon customer can't do!

Oct 17th 2009 10:13PM Go ahead, get your Droid.... Then we'll hop on a plane to Europe. My iPhone will work, your Droid will be a paperweight.....

Verizon confirms: Palm Pre hitting Big Red "early next year" {Engadget Mobile}

Oct 17th 2009 10:10PM Asia, I just don't see the limitations as an issue. The "more than one app at a time" issue only slows the device down, doesn't make it better. My iPhone is fast enough that it's not an issue to jump back and forth. but as Riz says, we'll probably be amazed at what our "phones" look like in 5 year. I remember getting a Sony Clie, and was amazed how great it was, but thinking, if only it had a phone.... Now it's a toy for my 4 year old....

Verizon confirms: Palm Pre hitting Big Red "early next year" {Engadget Mobile}

Oct 17th 2009 10:05PM Verizon has always been that way. 5 years ago, my employer made me carry separate personal and work phones. My work phone was always ATT/CIngular/ATT, and my personal phone was Verizon. I was with ATT when they switched on GSM, and my first Blackberry was with ATT as well. Eventually my employer saw the light, and allowed me to be reimbursed for using my personal phone for work. I dropped Verizon and switched to ATT. The service issues I had with Verizon in my area (Michigan/Ohio/Indiana) and lack of leading edge devices made it an easy switch. Brought my parents over on my account as well. 2 iPhones, 2 basic Nokias for less than $150/month, and better service to boot. I can draw holes all over Verizon's "Theres a map for that" map of their alleged Michigan coverage. The real Verizon map of Michigan looks like swiss cheese!

Oct 17th 2009 12:12PM The Pre may be the best Palm product ever, but it's still no iPhone.
