Toyota claims Jim Press lied about gov't funding Prius development {Autoblog}
Apr 2nd 2008 5:14PM I forgot about Mr. Press' comments. Why would he risk a defamation lawsuit from Toyota if he could not prove his allegations? If not it will cost him a lot...
Toyota claims Jim Press lied about gov't funding Prius development {Autoblog}
Apr 2nd 2008 5:07PM psarhjinian, when you relative came to the US for surgery, did he go to a state run hospital or to a private one? Your relative probably did not use Medicare for that. In all socialized medicine countries I know taxes are much higher than the US so after-tax payments should be expected. Service in the US for people who have good insurance is excellent, not sure where you get your comment that it is not good.
Carroll Shelby sued by Unique Performance customers {Autoblog}
Apr 2nd 2008 4:32PM And people ask why things are so expensive in this country. Everyone that has minimal exposure to business needs to carry a boat load of insurance because of things like these. Doctors these days need to insure their lives out before they start practicing. Toy makers, for every new toy, need to get insurance for a piece of plastic that can break and cut someone's finger. Are artists liable for the products they advertise? Are sports people liable for the products they advertise? It is the same thing. They are lending their credibility to these products, just not their names.
Verizon and Vodafone to launch LTE trial in 2008 {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 29th 2007 11:57AM CDMA will still be used for voice for years to come on legacy devices. New devices will be able to use VoIP and for that CDMA is not required. Verizon Wireless will be able to do VoIP on their EV-DO Rev A network soon and will also be able to use the new LTE network for VoIP too from day one. The specifications are developed to support mobility between CDMA and LTE and also between EV-DO Rev A (HRPD) and LTE so there can be a transition period where there can be dual mode devices CDMA2000/LTE. Nokia and SonyEricsson will benefit more for the pure LTE devices but they can still buy CDMA modules to integrate with their LTE devices.

GSM Association votes to support LTE {Engadget}
Nov 15th 2007 5:31PM akatsuki,
Europe and its operators are heavily involved in the development of LTE so it is natural they would adopt it. Japan is a different story. DoCoMo uses FOMA which is a derivative of UMTS and SoftBank uses HSPA. These are likely then to migrate to LTE. KDDI currently uses EV-DO technology. I hope this helps.

Nov 15th 2007 5:24PM Michael,
I do not understand your comment. How is that different than Sprint having an 1x/EV-DO phone with a WiMAX chip?
Next gen Toyota Prius will be joined by wagon {Autoblog}
Oct 29th 2007 5:05PM A bigger Prius and a wagon? Is that not a hybrid Camry wagon? Also, is this not against the hybrid credo that small is better? And people complain about the hybrid SUVs from GM...
Verizon chooses LTE for 4G network, hell freezes over {Engadget Mobile}
Sep 21st 2007 6:10PM If that were the case Qualcomm would already be reaping tons of dollars from all the WiFi equipment sold today. They do not. If Qualcomm had such a stronghold on OFDM patents Intel and 3GPP would not be pushing OFDM so hard. Jumping from one pair of handcuffs to another does not seem a good idea.
