I think it's far more likely that it would only hasten the already-begun exodus to Windows Mobile and BlackBerry devices.
For a company off to such a good start, they appear to be trying to see how far they can drive it into the ground.

May 22nd 2007 3:45PM Anything Verizon puts out would probably have the potential to at least make a run at the iPhone, but by the time Verizon gets it's hand on it and removes the Google Maps so that it can run VZW Navigator, takes away Bluetooth OBEX, and throws Get It Now! on the phone, it's going to make it just as much of a joke as every other piece of outdated crippled hardware that Verizon offers.
