How would you change Windows Mobile 6.5? {Engadget}
Nov 7th 2009 1:44PM The question should read: How would you change Windows Mobile 6.5 for smartphones? Our DC uses scanners running Windows Mobile 6.1 and they work great. I use a Pre a Storm, and I used to use an iPhone 3GS. At the end of the day, the consumer friendly phones work great for non-business applications, but when you REALLY NEED TO WORK, Windows Mobile and Symbian are the best, hands down.

Verizon confirms DROID tethering cost, will ask subscribers to double-down on their data plan {Engadget}
Nov 6th 2009 9:24AM For $30, I'd just invest in a copy of PDANet. Screw that horse honkey. At the same time though, I can appreciate Verizon giving the *option* to tether. *cough* Sprint just canned theirs.

Oct 25th 2009 10:39AM Wow what a bunch of optimists. I don't know about you guys, but I'm I'll be waiting for the Fark article about some drunk bumpkin ruining the whole thing with his F-150.

Oct 24th 2009 3:27PM I love my Hero and Android... and there are many great apps, but until we see bigger companies developing the same kinds of apps for Android as we see for the iPhone, I'm not celebrating yet. This is a great step in the right direction, though.
A friend and I were comparing our phones this afternoon, talking about the things I can do on Android that he can't do on his iPhone 3GS, and vice versa. Then he slaps this one on me:
"my starbucks card was empty and i save like 60 cents when i use it over cash so i opened up my starbucks app hit the reload button and was done all while standing in line to order my latte. try doing that on a preblackwindowsdroid phone."
My first thought was, oh whatever. But then it occurred to me that while people make fun of the crappy app store apps (and believe me, there are plenty) I don't think enough credit is given to the good ones. Granted his situation isn't one I'd experience, but the idea of having such a converged experienced like that makes me slightly envious.
Now this doesn't speak for everything, but it made me think.
BlackBerry Storm update landing tomorrow, bringing lots of good stuff (update: now with changelog!) {Engadget}
Oct 24th 2009 12:47PM I loaded the OS 5.0.0.230 firmware a few weeks ago and reverted because it had a few bugs with locking the device (which was to be expected).
Lemme tell you that now that OS 5 makes the Storm so much more usable. Reverting back was a very painful experience. This is excellent news for me, since I actually have to use my Storm for work, so I'm extremely excited.

Microsoft makes a funny with Marketplace 'apps lab' {Engadget}
Oct 22nd 2009 10:22AM Look, the app store has plenty of great apps, but you're lying to yourself if you think this short is false. There are tons of stupid applications that get accepted, while great ones are randomly rejected.
Motorola Droid ads invading mailboxes, too? {Engadget}
Oct 21st 2009 1:21AM For once I'm rooting for Verizon, though I'd love this device on Sprint. Most importantly, I'm happy that Android is finally getting the attention it deserves from major carriers. I like my Sprint Hero, but this Motorola really looks schnazzy. Anyway, I'm glad that the era of ugly android phones is coming to an end.
Off note: how the hell I gonna sell my Pre? No one wants it, lol.
