How would you change RIM's BlackBerry Curve 8330? {Engadget}

May 9th 2008 10:21PM Don't even know where to start...... But if there are a million things that can be done to improve the 8330. So, I'll only list the top 10

1) processor (at least double it)
2) memory (64mb isn't cutting it)
3) improved screen (vga)
4) updated OS
5) simplified and improved menu (like 9000)
6) wifi with uma access
7) quad band gsm (will allow it to be a true world phone)
8) true html browser (full access to web pages like iphone)
9) better camera (minimum of 3.2mp now)
10) improved battery life

BlackBerry Curve now available through Sprint {Engadget}

May 9th 2008 7:10PM wtf?? i thought they said gunmetal black for the sprint version. this crap looks like all other BB Curve's out already.

BlackBerry Curve now available on Verizon {Engadget}

May 6th 2008 10:33PM you have no clue........LOL
first off its the carriers that tell Rimm what options they want. Rimm could do either.
secondly, they haver bb phones with both gps and wifi so get your facts straight it is possible and they phones are already out.
calling someone a loser?? i would kill that noise if i were you especially since you proved not to know what you are talking about.
and lastly if you feel you like getting raped, stay with verizon. they always cripple their phones. i know people with the pearl 2 and the gps doesn't work without the verizon paid service. wtf? i already know bluetooth has been historically crippled and can only be used with headset not to transfer data. given they don't have the best phones, price, and cripple what decent phones they do have, i would never use them.

T-Mobile clears everything up: 3G rollout (with data) is on in NYC {Engadget}

May 5th 2008 1:18PM @aaron
you are correct!! iphone users can forget about 3G on T-mobile. But so can everyone else with 3G AT&T phones who wants to switch.
Until the release quad band HSDPA phones, only phones specifically designed for T-mobile 3G network will work at the higher speed.

I think you can talk and txt with CDMA. But I here the full internet will not work such as browsing or downloading at the same time with voice.
And that was the big advantage of GSM phones. Not sure if Rev A allows the duplex function. I heard it really made a big difference for increased upload speeds.

Sprint gets slapped with debt downgrade, lawsuit {Engadget Mobile}

May 5th 2008 8:41AM LOL. I thought I was the only one who noticed the backwards rating.... Well what can u really expect this is a tech site not a financial one???? So I guess I can forgive the writer for overlooking it.
For those who don't know see below for investment grade ratings:
Anything below BBB- would be junk.

AAA
AA+, AA, AA-
A+, A, A-
BBB+, BBB, BBB-

Buffalo's DriveStation Combo4 external HDD touts four interfaces {Engadget}

Lack of competition sends Blu-ray player prices upward {Engadget}

Mar 12th 2008 10:31PM Very simple put: Look at oil and gas prices right now. World wide use has gone up but OPEC will not increase the supply. Guess what? Prices continue to go up. If alternative sources of energy are more widespread, the supply of oil increases and thus OPEC charging companies are forced to reduce prices to compete with that alternative source. Of course they can try to cut the supply level (which they've done i the past), but that doesn't change what was already produced and sitting around waiting to be consumed.

QChat phones, others launching on Sprint mid-April? {Engadget Mobile}

Feb 24th 2008 10:04AM You are correct!
He made a big mistake b/c the 8830 is not a curve. He should have separated his thoughts and written 8830 titanium (like verizon) and the 8330 curve, a completely new curve model for sprint.

T-Mobile announces $99.99 unlimited plan just in time to yell "Fifth!" {Engadget}

Feb 19th 2008 5:23PM What a waste for the average user? That's like going to the all you can eat buffet everyday.... for what?? It's nice that you have everything, but you are not being efficient if you don't eat a lot.

I pay $39.99/mo on T-mobile for 1000 anytime and nights and wknds. The last 6 months I averaged less than 400mins/mo. Clearly, I have no reason to double my bill for unlimited service that I'm not using.

Some of the analysts have predicted that the only thing will happen is a bunch of downgrades from people paying over $100/mo for service, not a mass upgrade of customrs to these new plans.

Let's see what happens. No real need to switch carrier if everyone is offering such similar plans.
