Deutsche Telekom looking to pick up Sprint? {Engadget Mobile}
May 3rd 2008 2:54PM Deutsche Telekom was originally gonna pick up Sprint PCS when they entered the US market in 2000. But they decided buying out Voicestream and Powertel was a better idea, since they were already GSM. Thus T-Mobile USA was born. Sprint wouldn't be a horrible acquisition though... they'd get tons of 2.5Ghz spectrum to deploy LTE or WiMax services, 1900Mhz spectrum that they could pair with the 2100Mhz part of their AWS winnings (with FCC approval of course) to provide Euro-style UMTS for their customers overseas when they come here, and they'd become a Tier 1 internet backbone provider (SprintLink). They'd just have to kill Nextel as quickly as they could. That could drag them down for a while.
Motorola's ZN5 captured in pictures, no blur included {Engadget Mobile}
May 1st 2008 2:15PM I'm assuming the phone is still in the beta, testing stages. Therefore, its entirely possible that the camera isn't the exact one that will go into the production unit. Also, Chinese cities are terribly polluted, so its entirely possible that the pictures are perfectly accurate.
First ever BlackBerry clamshell phone unmasked, dubbed the 'Kickstart' {Engadget Mobile}
May 1st 2008 12:35AM Somehow... the screen part reminds me of the RAZR slightly. It looks pretty hot for a Blackberry. Wonder if its GSM or CDMA and if it has 3G or not.
Chrysler tapping consumers to design future products {Autoblog}
Mar 26th 2008 1:33AM Mitsubishi and Hyundai designed most of the 4-cylinder engines (GEMA) that Chrysler uses... you know, the ones with the crappy mileage?
Also, the Sebring/Avenger (along with the Caliber, Compass, and Patriot) already use an inflexible modified Mitsubishi platform... hence the design sacrifices that had to be made.
Not trying to defend Chrysler, just stating the facts. If anyone is to blame, its Daimler, for forcing Mitsu and Chrysler to share.

Chrysler says its interiors will get more attention {Autoblog}
Aug 7th 2007 12:53PM Can you say two-tone interiors???? My big problem with the Big 3 (mostly Ford and Chrysler) has not been materials quality per-se (although they could stand to pay attention to what Volkswagen does with soft-touch materials; I think their interiors are amazing), but the fact that they make the interiors look very monotone and boring. I like the look of black upper, light lower better than the one color interiors they have been using. Those look extremely plain.
Also some of the textures they use on their plastics make them seem cheaper than they actually are (the "saw-tooth" texture they use on Sebring, Avenger and Caliber interiors, for example). Toyota and Honda use plenty of hard plastic, its just that the textures are nicer. Even Ford Fusion plastic is nice, because it has a really fine grained, almost leather-looking texture.
I hope they fix their interiors ASAP. I really wanted a Sebring (I like the exterior looks, especially lowered with nice rims), but the interior is butt-ugly. The interior on the SEMA Sebring is nice, however, because it is all black. For now, I see myself buying a VW Jetta.
