Engadget Mobile giveaways - Samsung u620 for Verizon {Engadget Mobile}

May 30th 2007 11:42PM Please oh please let me have it! I need something new and my upgrade is coming

Verizon to offer unlimted text, pix and flix on April 15? {Engadget Mobile}

Apr 10th 2007 5:56PM It's true! I've been reading about it for the past 2 days and I can't believe it myself. Yeah, the price of the plans go up, but the unlimited txt, pix, flix, and IM is kinda nice. All single/primary lines will cost $20 more, but the benefits are there. If you have multiple lines and change plans, $20 more buys you unlimited for all lines. Not bad

LG's VX8700 for Verizon gets clearer {Engadget Mobile}

Mar 21st 2007 3:57PM Little birdie told me this phone should be launching within the next 2 weeks. And look closely: the EVDO label on the signal strength, status bars, and all the like are VZW. No need to worry about Big Red ruining your fun by plastering everything to look like a firetruck. But be prepared to have the VZW UI (shock of all shocks), so please, don't complain endlessely about it like every other post

Slim dual-hinged Samsung U740 now available from Verizon {Engadget Mobile}

Feb 14th 2007 2:02PM Been there, done that. Started to receive the phones in the store a few days ago, and it seems like a good phone. Slim, great display resolution, and good audio clarity. Only thing that scraes me is the dual-hinge. Anyone remember the Samsung SCH-a610? Hinge kept snapping. Seems sturdy enough, just a little worried how it's gonna hold up over time

Verizon Wireless set to launch Samsung U740 {Engadget Mobile}

Feb 2nd 2007 12:00PM Just got an update. Phone is gonna launch on February 14th in retail locations. $199.99 2-yr, $249.99 1-yr, and $319.99 retail. Yeah, there's a mail-in rebate for all you price-savvy folks.

Verizon passed up Apple iPhone deal {Engadget Mobile}

Jan 29th 2007 3:10PM Wow. Just had to jump in on this one. Looks like everyone is just about to pass out from screaming about this one. Let's shed a little light, shall we? I'm not disappointed about this decision whatsoever. The whole UI argument is right out the window. Any & all PDA phones have either Windows Mobile 5.0, Palm OS, or something like it. The only reason VZW is demanding is because they want it to work every time, all the time, and don't want to waste time dealing with crappy devices. Also, with as much money as people are gonna be spending for this device, no PDA features or data? What a joke. Another thing is that VZW already has a tech support team that works on any & every phone. Why would a company want to spend money on two different groups of people just for tech support? Doesn't make sense. It all comes down to supporting the customer and VZW doesn't want to give up that connection with their customers

Verizon's USB720 EV-DO Rev A dongle plays catch-up to Sprint {Engadget Mobile}

Jan 28th 2007 2:21PM Just to confirm: this sucker's gonna be $129.99 2-yr (yes, after rebate), $179.99 1-yr, and $299.99 retail. Device is supposed to launch on Feb. 2nd for B2B and Feb. 20th for retail

Alltel subject of possible bidding war {Engadget Mobile}

Jan 5th 2007 2:28PM This has been a topic of conversation for some time now. VZW has been in talks with Alltel for things such as roaming agreements, etc. Ideally VZW could pick up Alltel and not have to worry about messy technology conversions (like Sprint-Nextel), available capital (again, Sprint-Nextel), and a lot of the re-branding problems that have been prevalent (i.e. Cingular->AT&T). Oh yeah, and for all you Alltel people that are bashing VZW, remember: if the buyout does go through current Alltel customers gain access to all VZW service area and their current service area. Use some common sense here people
