Hands-on with the Telus HTC S640, aka HTC Iris {Engadget Mobile}

Nov 15th 2007 10:31PM is this thinner than the s620 or thicker. it looks thicker.

Google and HTC's "Dream" phone prototype semi-revealed {Engadget Mobile}

Nov 6th 2007 12:27AM Looks like bad ergonomics for thumbtyping in that keyboard. I mean, where would the nook between right thumb and index finger go with that pad sticking out to the right?

Hands-on with Samsung's SGH-i620 WM6 slider {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 31st 2007 5:34PM More details please!

So how/what exactly are those 'tactile' buttons up front. Given that they are the most pressed (the green call button, the menus), are they soft/film plastic or do they depress at all? No feedback at all?

Also, how exactly does the scroll wheel work: does it only go left/right or can it also be pressed up-down-left-right like an ipod's?

What about thickness, 16mm seems like a lot these days? A side to side with, say, a 600 or a T-Mobile Dash would be nice.

Am trying to decide whether to wait for this or convert over to the new sexy Blackberry 8310, which I've just decided has the best mobile QWERTY keyboard I've ever laid my digits on.

Nokia debuts totally fugly 7500 Prism in China {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 4th 2007 2:23AM i would disagree, kudos to Nokia for being bold: i think a phone that looks like that (if it's not ginormous) could be quite slick. definitely would get you attention when you whip it out in front of your friends, which is what to some people what it's all about.

HTC Cavalier finally hits FCC {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 3rd 2007 8:21PM Having played with it here in HK where it's been available over a month: it is indeed much nicer to have the faster processor on the Cavalier, my Excalibur felt sluggish at times.

However for some reason (extra electronics?) they had to make it bigger. Not so much in the size specs, which are almost the same, but it is a lot more squarish, whereas the Excalibur had very rounded corners and edges. Overall it feels like one of those Nokia slab-keyboard numbers.

Enough that though I *loved* my (now stolen) Excalibur, I'll wait until HTC figures out how to make the next generation *smaller* instead of bigger (maybe wait until the Samsung i620?).

Samsung i620, the i600's successor? {Engadget Mobile}

May 30th 2007 8:24PM so the question is whether the the sliding mechanism will make it thick and bulky. i can't find any specs on how thick it is other than the height and width.

T-Mobile Dash review {Engadget}

Oct 19th 2006 7:31AM Whoa, is this true, that you cannot view the Notes section of a Calendar, Contacts or Task entry? How about the Notes application itself? Can somebody confirm this?

Thanks!

T-Mobile Dash review {Engadget}

Oct 16th 2006 12:00AM I was wondering, does it come locked (i.e. can you stick in a foreign SIM card when you're travelling)? Even for the non-contract ones? T-Mobile has this inane policy of making you wait 3 months ...
