Universal: 'current plan is to continue to support the HD DVD format.' Currently. {Engadget HD}

Jan 11th 2008 12:24AM I personally don't care who wins the format war, as I'm not buying into either format right now. That said, I love all of the comments that say "wait for BD Live!" Of course, what they don't say is "wait for BD Live (profile 2.0), when you have to buy a new player." At least HD-DVD was a finished spec. . . of all the current BD players, how many support profile 2.0? Oh. . . one.

Apple, AT&T served with class action suit over iPhone locking practices {Engadget Mobile}

Oct 10th 2007 5:43PM Personally, I'd rather see a class action suit over the insane bills that iPhone users receive when taking the phone overseas. According to Apple AND AT&T, the phone still sends and receives data with the phone off. Pathetic!

T-Mobile's white Pearl in the flesh {Engadget}

Jan 12th 2007 10:37PM Mike . . . RE: Your Cingular Pearl Trackball not lighting up. . . It's supposed to. Mine does without any issue at all. It comes on when the keyboard lights up.

The second Xbox 360 revealed: codename Zephyr {Engadget}

Jan 5th 2007 10:45AM Am I the only person here that has heard of Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD? The HD-DVD Add-on for the current 360 can't output these formats because they can only be sent over an analog connection (read: HDMI). Optical doesn't provide enough bandwidth for the transfer.

The only people that should give a damn about the lack of HDMI on the 360 are those with the HD-DVD add-on. We're the ones that are losing out. Not those who think it's going to make a difference over component video. . .

Hands-on with the Treo 680 {Engadget Mobile}

Oct 13th 2006 4:21AM I actually dig the 680. Hopefully I can replace my 650 with a white one soon. That said, anyone know where I might get the Apple skin that's on the Sprint Treo?
