May 24th 2007 8:27AM JNels here with Verizon Wireless. Folks here are right - we've had "plain old" Song ID for a couple years (which is a pay per ID kind of service). For the *new* V CAST SONG ID, it's free on the specified phones (and will roll out to additional handsets). IF you have the *old* Song ID on your device, you need to remove it in order to upload the *new* (free) one.

If we had given ownership of our network and wireless product to another party, we would be unable to ensure that the products and experience are up to the Verizon standards – and that is what we always strive for.
