Don't kid yourself
When Apple introduces a device that will send you to the moon (the iRocket to take you to the iMoon perhaps) and only tells Engadget, then you get to call it breaking news... this is not breaking news

Superpowerful small wind turbines light up the night {Engadget}
May 13th 2008 8:44PM the U of Chicago had some people who formed a company called Aerotecure ( http://www.aerotecture.com ) and if you look into it these guys created a really advanced wind turbine technology that actually works in Chicago
Adium adds Facebook Chat support; emo kids cheer worldwide {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

I use Facebook to keep in touch with people that I otherwise would not keep in touch with. And I do not consider myself emo in any way. I actually formed a group that is getting quite a few members that called "Make Facebook IM OPEN with XMPP (aka Jabber)", so hopefully that group grows and Facebook takes the hint that maybe having programs like Adium rely on a closed source platform isn't the best idea

Most review sites get their stuff free of charge but ship it back right after they are done testing it. They don't get to 'keep' anything.
In fact, it is policy at many review sites that everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, has to go back... otherwise it would look like manuf are bribing review sites.
Of course, some times the sites will get the stuff donated so they can give it to users in 'give aways', but they are almost NEVER given to employees or used as test benches for future reviews unless they are purchased from the company outright

Apr 19th 2008 10:14AM I have access to an 8 core mac pro, and I cannot get compressor to use 100% of all 8 cores when compressing video... and OS X is great at that...
Using that many cores for one application is going to take some work... although enterprise apps may find it useuful... A lot of websites that use MySQL use Opterons because of their great 64 bit support (which works GREAT with MySQL)
American Apparel straps RFID tags onto individual garments {Engadget}
Apr 15th 2008 3:12AM A lot of the custom t-shirt places like Threadless and Shirt.Woot use them a ton since they offer super-deep discounts in higher quantities.
I go to the store, find what I want, write down the number then buy it on eBay for 70% less than the store price. It isn't that I want to be hip or anything, I just think their clothing is comfortable to wear and I don't want to deal with a ton of logos and other crap.
Ultra sues just about every other modular power supply manufacturer {Engadget}
Apr 13th 2008 6:28AM Wait, never mind, it says they sent notices... that should cover the last part if they were sent at or before the release of the product
