it's pretty much common consensus, unless you are one of those "indy" snobs who thinks anything mainstream is shit

Obama BlackBerry alert: it's a BlackBerry {Engadget}
Jan 29th 2009 8:36PM I'm the senior class president for my school and I use a Bold. And alot of people think it's cooler , or just as cool as the iPhone... though this usually happens before they actually use it.
"Does it have a touchscreen?" *all excited*
"No. I don't need one. But see all this stuff it can do?" *starts to try to show blackberry awesomeness*
"Oh. (insert condescending'iPhone therefore iBetter than you' face) Do you have iSteam? Coolest app ever. Here, bring up the App store real quick..." *reaches for phone*
"/facepalm" *sometimes I actually say "/facepalm" just to see their reactions*
"What?" *confused*
"Type on my keyboard real quick." *prepares for victory*
"HOLY CRAP LOL I CAN TEXT SO MUCH BETTER ON THIS THING" *starts actually noticing how cool the phone is*
"Yeah, and my 3g speeds are pretty fast too, not to mention I love the browser on it" *starts to open intertubes*
"But... doesn't only the iPhone have 3G? And what's a browser?" *acts puzzled*
*Pause* "Hey can you take a video of me doing x real quick, and then upload it to youtube. Just copy and paste the link into an email and send it to me then too, so i can upload it to my facebook." *prepares for victory, pt II*
*Yeah just a... oh, wait."
Sometimes I wonder how a nerd like me got elected.
Shelby's amazing Aero EV: 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds, 10 minute recharge {Engadget}
Jan 27th 2009 9:17AM First off, 1,716 kJ is alot of energy... and then you have to remember that with their estimates you aren't going to be going full speed, constantly accelerating to 60 off stoplights, and using all 1000 horses and torque. I do believe the the U.S. guidelines mean the estimates are made off of an average of 30 mph with the air conditioning on (not sure what settings) and the radio on for 1/4 of the time to give consumers realistic expectations.
But still, I would like a little more mileage to go with a beast like this... 10 minutes is awesome, but in real life another 10 minutes isn't going to matter. Give me a little more mileage so I don't have to worry about showing off on the highway... cause don't lie, thats pretty much a top 3 reason for getting this baby

Jan 24th 2009 10:28PM Woot! The 407 (orlando) finally gets some of the tech rep it deserves. We literally have at least 20 reputable providers where I live, and all speeds are almost exactly as advertised... not to mention we are getting WiMax soon and that Sprint, AT&T and even T-Mobile all have excellent 3G coverage in most places around here (Sprint pretty much covers from coast to coast, and then some)

Jan 8th 2009 11:18PM How is this pointless at all? I can see this sprouting up in offices everywhere, and even possibly starting a trend. Who doesn't want an office phone with a giant touchscreen, text messaging, full browser, email, wifi, not to mention android apps could turn it into your own personal display for football scores or whatever.
The more I think about it, the more awesome this sounds?
Plus with bluetooth you just hook up a wireless headset, which replaces the generic wired headset you see on secretaries everywhere...
