Nov 10th 2009 10:21AM Are you saying we're looking at this through rose-tinted windows, er, glasses?

Rupert Murdoch to remove News Corp sites from Google, institute paywall {Download Squad}

Nov 9th 2009 11:23AM Well said.

This proves that Murdock has no idea what the Internet is. There is no way he would come to the conclusion that people will actually PAY to visit his sites based on market study. This is blind greed, short and simple.

Get a Quirky Beamer for your iPhone (hint: it's not a car) {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Nov 9th 2009 11:13AM $32 for an LED, a couple of CR2016 batteries, and a plastic case? No thanks. Make it $10-$15 and we'll talk about it. For $32, add a plastic macro lens for the iPhone 3G.

Gigabyte fixes iPhone sync issue with BIOS update {Engadget}

Nov 9th 2009 10:29AM That's why I used a P55 board for my hackintosh. Interestingly, Mac OS X also has the iPhone sync issue on this board...

Samsung slims down NAND memory packaging, wafer-thin gadgets to follow {Engadget}

Nov 6th 2009 10:20AM @JOe: You're high. Apple has been the savior of the flash memory manufacturers with their insatiable hunger for storage on the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPod Nano.

Orb for Mac finally arrives, streams media from OS X to any internet-connected device {Engadget}

Nov 6th 2009 10:18AM The company says they're working on a Linux version.

If the Linux version is as buggy as the Mac version, don't bother. Even over my WLAN, Orb stops streaming videos about 5 seconds in and goes to the next video, regardless of the bandwidth setting.

The nice thing is that, if you install Perian, you can stream pretty much ANY type of video including MKVs.

Tekken 6 online patch in the works, says Namco {Joystiq}

Nov 4th 2009 10:20PM I've run into similar problems on certain games. My solution was that I had DTS enabled in my Sound Settings. My receiver is DTS-capable, but some games don't send the "right" data to the receiver.

FWIW: Even if you disable DTS in your Sound Settings, streamed movies with DTS soundtracks still play in DTS. Why? Not sure, but it works.

Mac OS X 10.6.2 rumored to block Atom support, foil netbook OS X booting {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Nov 2nd 2009 1:48PM I guess no one noticed that the illustration crossed out the north bridge chip, not the Atom chip (the rectangular one to the right).

iPhone and Windows 7 don't play nice, Intel P55 chipset to blame {Engadget}

Oct 31st 2009 9:51PM It DOES happen with hackintoshes, like mine. I have a Core i7 hackintosh and have the same problem.

My solution? Connect a USB 1.1 hub to one of the ports and the iPhone syncs properly (albeit slowly).
