Nov 4th 2009 12:15PM Copied/Pasted from a buddy of mine who works at Verizon...
But I'm sure every company will follow suit. U know I'm not a Verizon homer. I just do what they ask me. I think its crazy to raise it but I'm sure it won't have a negative effect.

Nov 4th 2009 11:32AM Whats bull sh*t is that 99% of Verizon reps will 'forget' to inform new customers of the higher ETF.
How-to: recycle your old gadgets {Engadget}
Oct 27th 2009 2:22PM It wouldnt be a bad idea for Engadget to give away old electronics to the readers. But perhaps there is something in the legal fine print that states that Engadget cannot give away products donated by companies for review.
However - if NOT - then why not reward the loyal readers?

Verizon chief says offering the iPhone is Apple's call {Engadget}
Oct 26th 2009 5:45PM Would you vow to never own an iPhone for the rest of your life in order to get it on Verizon?

Apple is not a phone manufacturer. Sure - they happen to have a phone they sell - but they are not in the business of selling multiple versions of the same device.
They sell iPods in varying memory sizes and computers in varying configurations - but its not like my iPod is not going to work if i get the wrong version...

Oct 26th 2009 3:45PM Agreed!
I would hate to see what kind of shenanigans Verizon pulls with the iPhone in regards to apps and music.

If I were Apple id pick T-Mobile...but I dont run Apple. My thinking is that they dont have to redesign hardware, test it, manufacture it...etc. with T-Mobile its only a software change...and some testing on an already working device and manufacturing doesnt change. You also dont have to keep track of seperate inventories as one phone could use either network.

I wouldnt say the technology is 'better'... just different. CDMA vs GSM isnt a battle that I want to really get into - to me it just comes down to preference. Like say a Lexus vs an Infinity... they both look good...do basically the same things...just in different ways. Its all a matter of preference. If most of the people you know are on Verizon - it makes sense to go with them...IN network calling. But if you have friends and family all over the place..why not go with whatever works best for you and looks good?
I have an iPhone for my personal phone and a Verizon Chocolate 3 as my work phone. [I know right?] and the Chocolate gets HORRIBLE reception compared to my iPhone standing in the middle of a parking lot in Tempe. Granted there are some places where iPhone SUCKS [UoP stadium for example] and the Chocolate has full bars...but I dont find myself at too many Cardinal games...I do find myself at home and work 90% of the time...and both of those places the iPhone has better reception.
