FCC checks out the Nokia N93i {Engadget}
Dec 22nd 2006 12:52PM Nokia is being A holes with their high end stuff and could fall to 3rd place next year. Maybe even 4th. Why? Because they have dreams of trying to be like Apple. Meaning, open up your own stores and charge azz loads for your phones. “Screw the carriers and their service bundling. We don’t want them low ball pricing our phones with contract bundles. We want the chumps, era, consumers to pay TOP, full price dollar for our phones!”
Don’t believe? When is the last time you saw Verizon, Cingy, Sprint or T-mobile put out a high end Nokia? Well sorry Nokia, “I know Apple, Apple is a friend of mine and you sir are no Apple”. Now stop the nonsense and get over yourself. There are way too many cool phones out there for you to try this type of silly stuff now. Go play nice and call Cingy or T-mobile so I can get one of these bad boys for $99 bucks with a 2 year contract.
WE AINT GOING TO YOUR STORE AND WE AINT PAYING $600 FOR THE SAME PHONE. SORRY!!

Content filtering in the works for YouTube {Download Squad}
Oct 16th 2006 9:49PM If you’re saying we can’t trust the Corporations to simply imitate life in a natural, unobtrusive way and not SPAM the content to death by butchering the artist’s intent with product place adnausium, then your right! I say to bad for them if they can’t implement product placement in a natural, real life way. I see it as the silver bullet to their DRM woes.
What’s the alternative? A never ending battle and billions of wasted dollars in a “I create a new DRM scheme and some werewolf name Jon breaks, reverse engineers or adds his own “for sale DRM?”. Remember, content seeks ubiquity and as long as the human eye can see it and the ear can hear it, it will be “have-able” and after all isn’t that the point? (i.e. yes I want many to see, hear and enjoy my work). So stop trying to patch the never ending holes in the bucket and just paint the water green and let it floooooow. The current course of action is just plain silly I tell ya, and it’s a battle that they JUST WON’T WIN!
SMS to the rescue: texting saves boy's life {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 10th 2006 1:24PM UM, DUDE, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? See folks, this is why you have to READ and do research on a subject before you go popping off. Here are the real facts about most Mobile Operator SMS Platforms:
1. FACT – SMS messages are sent in the clear and are NOT encrypted unless the mobile users (on both end, use 3rd party software to perform encrypt/decrypt functionality).
2. FACT – Mobile Operator platforms DO NOT encrypt SMS messages by default unless an add-on is made to the platform to do it.
3. FACT – All Mobile Operators store SMS messages (some for as little as 3 days and as long as 10 days or more). That is why when someone sends you an SMS message on Tuesday and your phone was powered off until you powered it on on Friday, you are then able to get that message which was STORED (and in the clear to boot)!
4. FACT – Some SMS platforms come with built in search functionality especially since 9/11 (terrorist activity, law enforcement requests, etc.). Crontabs could also be run on older platforms.
5. FACT – I actually heard audio of the different Operators doing exactly what we are talking about.
So before you go rattling off a bunch of nonsense based on nothing, do some research first? And you sounded so convincing too. You my friend just got PWN’ED!!
Spy Shots: 2008 Nissan Skyline GT-R! {Autoblog}
Oct 9th 2006 7:04PM WHY OH WHY DIDN’T THEY KEEP IT “VETTE FLAT” LIKE THE CONCEPT ART?
http://www.seriouswheels.com/2005/2005-Nissan-GT-R-PROTO-Concept-SA-Rendering-1280x960.htm
http://www.seriouswheels.com/2005/2005-Nissan-GT-R-PROTO-Concept-RA-Rendering-1280x960.htm
I have been saying the same thing as you DREW ever since they announced this baby “the problem with the skyline is the people who love it aren’t people who can afford it”. At 80K+ there are sooo many choices, especially from Europe! An 80k Nissan? – They should have simply badged it Skyline (brand), GTR (model) and sold it at Infiniti dealers. I’m all distraught now. I have been looking soooo forward to this beast. Sold the 350z and have been saving pennies too. Well, the only thing that will save the 08 Skyline GT-R is a true sense of its history by Nissan (i.e. living up to it) and “sick performance numbers” compared to the 997 turbo and Z06 (viper is a pig). We shall see...
