LG Chocolate 3, press shot style {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 26th 2008 2:22PM
Those actually, IMHO don't look to bad for consumer oriented mutlimedia devices. I bet they will sell well.

I don't use Verizon myself since I prefer the GSM lifestyle, but their lineup seems to get better and better everytime I look.

Verizon seems to put their best foot forward with their LG lineup and includes most high end features you could expect.

T-Mobile loses magenta suit against Telia, we try not to laugh {Engadget Mobile}

Meh. Give us some phone stories with DT.... enough of this Magenta rubbish.

Virgin Mobile looking to merge with Helio? {Engadget Mobile}

Best phones? I've never found any of Helio's phones appealing although they had some pretty cool apps.

Helio's customer service group has to be among the worst in the industry.

Deutsche Telekom looking to pick up Sprint? {Engadget Mobile}

Number 3 spot? If DT's USA mobility unit picks up Sprint, that would catapult them to the number one spot.

BlackBerry Kickstart flip gets more details, T-Mobile branding included {Engadget Mobile}

May 2nd 2008 4:01PM
Just to keep things into perspective, this is just a blog. Perhaps though we should just stick with the facts and not let our personal opinions or natural biases affect the topic.

The product looks interesting. Whether or not the local T-Mobile network is great or not is irrelevant to me since wireless technology doesn't guarantee anyone flawless coverage everywhere. Some of the people saying T-Mobile "sucks," in such generalities are lame because service quality differs from block to block with all carriers.

I believe this will sell well. Heck, RIM's stock surged on its news and if marketed right, this looks like a hit - 3G or not. There are lots of reasons why people buy products and their reasons may be just a bit over the head of some cell phone junkies comprehension.

Look outside the box sometimes.

Chris: Do you guys ever get tired of ragging on the carrier? I know there was the whole Magenta incident, but come on now? Your articles are becoming overly predictable and less innovative.

I wouldn't buy this device per se either, but I'm sure there are several more would and I'm sure they'd appreciate reading an informative post sans your terrible attitude and personal beef with T-Mobile. Just a thought.

Verizon follows AT&T on the black ink trail {Engadget Mobile}

Apr 30th 2008 9:41PM
Verizon's numbers, according to your graph, look a lot more impressive over AT&T's being that they trail them in total customers.

It looks like VZW does a better job in attracting retail-direct customers than its larger rival which helps it in margins despite having slightly few total subscribers.

T-Mobile to debut 3G as voice-only. No data. We're over it. {Engadget}

Apr 30th 2008 9:18PM
Another Engadget author who takes another internal memo and blows it out of proportion.

The reality is that there are no aircards or smartphones to take advantage of the UMTS spectrum as it stands. The low end 3G capable phones do not support high speed / full HTML browsing so the only benefit to using these handsets as it stands is the increase of voice coverage thanks to 3G airspace over the 1700 MHz band.

The verbiage is that the 3G network at the moment is for voice but that it is ready for data as soon as devices become available.

For those readers who are planning on selling your DT stock, yelling at the DT board or jumping off a bridge over this article, consider the source. Engadget is being irresponsible by posting this article without any credence this time around.

WiFi-less BlackBerry 8110 showing up in AT&T stores {Engadget Mobile}

Apr 23rd 2008 12:58PM
The 8130 has both 3G support and access to VZ Navigator.

If AT&T or T-Mobile pressured RIM to provide them with a product that included a 3G Radio, GPS capability for audible turn by turn directions and Wi-Fi, they'd do it.

I love the form factor and call quality of my T-Mobile Pearl 8120, but would welcome GPS support in addition to WiFi.

Once 3G is blanketed everywhere by AT&T and T-Mobile, WiFi might seem less important but GPS capability will continue to remain high as we head into 2009.

Vodafone chief: Verizon needs LTE before we do {Engadget Mobile}

Apr 16th 2008 12:47PM
Did he really say Verizon was more "desperate," then they were or was that simply the way you interpreted it?
