Video: Opera Mobile 9.5 redesign is lickity quick, slick {Engadget}
Feb 5th 2008 5:33AM I'm sure the question on everyone's mind is...can it do Flash?
Hands-on with the Garmin nuvifone {Engadget}
Jan 30th 2008 11:08PM I hope they fine tune the design of it before they release it such as:
-speaker grill should use fine mesh covering instead of grill-like slots
-all ports should be covered in some way (one flap is all it takes to cover up usb port)
other then that I wouldn't mind being seen using it. Although in the pics it looks VERY generic because of the black color, I spy hints of sparkles in the plastic which is a nice touch. If they add more colors (silver and/or white perhaps?) I'm sure it would be nice. All in all Garmin has managed to catch my interest and I will be looking out for more info.
PSP 3.90 firmware update with Skype available {Engadget}
Jan 30th 2008 6:49AM Why bother waiting and wanting an all in one accessory? Why not just demand/wish for the device to have all those built in and just tack on the price difference into it. I would gladly pay more than $170 for a PSP that had GPS, camera, and mic built into the device rather than have to carry around accessories.
If Sony decides to make such a product they will get my money for sure.
HTC Kaiser fans cough up over $5,000 for homebrew video drivers {Engadget}
Jan 28th 2008 2:14AM I'm glad this situation is getting some publicity. As a Tilt owner I can vouch for the fact that the display rendering/graphics are horrible on it. And after browsing through xda-developers it's clear that many others have the same gripe. Since HTC won't do anything about it I certainly hope someone else can come up with a solution. If not then I guess I'll have to look elsewhere (iPhone perhaps?)
Sony mylo 2 on sale {Engadget}
Jan 25th 2008 9:56AM what they need to do is throw that kind of screen (800X480) into the PSP slim...release an attachable hardware keyboard, and throw in bluetooth as an extra bonus and they'll be flying off shelves faster than the DS lites.
Poll: Did HTC mishandle the video driver controversy? {Engadget}
Jan 23rd 2008 11:04AM If I had known that the Tilt was going to be this slow (especially when sliding open the keyboard & screen takes forever to rotate) I would not have bought this phone. Seeing as how I already purchased it I was planning on selling it and buying an iPhone but I've decided to wait for the 3G iPhone to come out. Until then I'll be waiting for HTC to come out with a fix for this. For now you can find me over at xda-developers.
Is this Windows Mobile 7? {Engadget Mobile}
Jan 7th 2008 5:20AM I remember reading somewhere that WM7 will have the new PIE6 running with real HTML browsing like the mobile Safari and if Engadget is "asking" if this is WM7 then I'm pretty sure it is since they've known about it for a while and couldn't/can't talk about due to confidentiality agreements with Microsoft. All I have to say about this is sign me up...can't wait for this to come out and with Apple releasing an SDK for the iPhone in a month...it can't come out any faster.
LG has mystery HSDPA QWERTY device at CES {Engadget}
Jan 7th 2008 5:04AM this is very interesting...i can't wait for more info on this thing. Any more pics?
iPhone firmware 1.1.3 leaked? {Engadget}
Dec 29th 2007 2:14PM i think that those that want the iPhone experience but hate that ht has no true smartphone features should look no further than to HTC's latest offerings. The HTC Touch Cruise is touch screen based, full GPS, and has WM6 Pro on it (matches the Tilt in ROM/RAM) so it'll fit all your business oriented needs. The iPhone I think is for more of a casual user so they shouldn't be compared until maybe in Feb. with the release of SDKs they implement more true smartphone features into it. If speed is an issue then just wait until they release a 3G iPhone (later 2008?). I myself have been on the fence of getting either an iPhone or a Tilt but this Touch Cruise is sounding mighty nice too.
PSP 3.80 update brings streaming audio, video scene search, and OPML support: December 18th {Engadget}
Dec 12th 2007 3:44AM so pretty much all we have to look forward to is the internet radio player and RSS with OPML support since we already have video scene search and the other two features are region based. they need to expand multitasking on the PSP such as playing music while browsing the internet or even while making changes to the PSP's settings.
