AT&T BlackBerry Bold hands-on {Engadget Mobile}

Nov 10th 2008 3:36PM No one is mentioning that this thing weighs a ton compared to other BB's! My Curve and Pearl (both VZW) weigh probably half of what this thing does so not only does its size make it difficult to pocket, you better be wearing a sturdy belt because this phone will struggle to pull your pants right off your hips!

Comcast set to begin bandwidth capping come October 1st {Engadget}

Aug 29th 2008 10:45PM You've got it right here. If we're going to sue Comcast and say they can't de-prioritize undesirable traffic into a smaller bucket to allow more critical applications like voice and video a guaranteed pipe then this is what it has to come to. All those P2P jerks had to complain that their torrents were going too slow and now the rest of us high-cap users with legitimate reasons to exceed 250GB/mo are screwed. I frequently use my connection at home to exchange MRI scans with several clinics and each scan can be 1.5-2GB. I only need to do 4-5 a day and I'm on the short list of folks they'll be disconnecting.

People need to understand that the more applications we run over the same pipe, the more we need to pay attention to how that pipe is managed. This is the worst possible scenario for everyone and all you folks who are complaining about this should have seen it coming.

Palm Treo Pro unboxing and hands-on {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 20th 2008 3:44PM So where's the review already? How's the keyboard, what's the screen look like, how much does the OS stink? Seriously, quit it with the packaging pr0n and get down to business!

Jun 27th 2008 5:08PM I have to admit, I'm a fan of WinXP. For all it's quirks, it is a reliable OS that rarely disappoints. More often than not, user error is to blame, not software.

Jun 19th 2008 2:09PM That's not the Ferranti Mark 1, it's the Manchester Mark 2. No, I'm not making it up and no I'm not as big a geek as you now think I am. Check Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Manchester_Mark2.jpg

Comcast Center's video wall packs 10 million pixels into 27 x 87-foot display {Engadget}

Jun 19th 2008 8:59AM Yes, it does make those annoying sounds all day long and what's worse, it attracts crowds of people from off the street who clog the lobby. Highly annoying, and yet so stinkin' cool!!!

MSI's new NVIDIA 9600GT card includes "turbo" button for overclocking {Engadget}

May 27th 2008 11:54AM Anyone notice the thumbscrew threads on either side of the button? You could rig up a cable release from a camera with a bracket that screws to those threads and run the release button around to the front of the machine for some old-skool action.

Several folks have also questioned why they don't just make this thing run at "turbo" speeds all the time. The answer is simple; you don't need "turbo" graphics to surf the web and work on spreadsheets, so why suck up all the extra power and generate more heat when you don't need to? Quite frankly, this would be a handy feature on every video card. My gaming rig serves as my work machine during the day and I'd love to be able to turn down the thirst of my GPU when I'm just banging code and writing reports.
