@ Omagus: That's just Nilay's poor biased spin he/she is trying to add to the story which is both sad and irrelevant. Don't let it bother you.

@ Tamkia: Who are you "axing" and why? LOL
You hood rats are funny!
Back on topic: I don't think the plan is that bad. It's just hard for consumers to justify that high price point for anything other than the iPhone. The Sprint brand obviously doesn't sit well with a lot of people no matter how good they offer things. Time for a name change or buyout if you ask me. Their rep is just too tarnished.

Sep 10th 2009 1:19AM I like the Hero but I don't like Sprint and I don't care for forced high tiered plans. I bet you the Hero will require one of these expensive plans.
It's obvious Sprint is trying to pull themselves out of the gutter and I don't blame them but they are clearly trying to force high ARPU plans on people who really don't need them.
T-Mobile market testing terrible names for the HTC Magic / Sapphire {Engadget Mobile}

Who cares what it's called. If they lose out in revenue over a funky name, that's their problem not ours.
I'm ditching my iPhone 3G and I'm sorry but the bulky Pre or the carrier Sprint does nothing for me.
I for one am looking forward to this unit. There are tons of apps already available for Android and this device looks really slick. I've been testing a prepaid T-Mobile phone for a few weeks now and they have a really good clean sounding network in my area unlike my iPhone that sounds garbly and broken up when I call
Samsung Memoir outed in T-Mobile Scoop, launch seems imminent {Engadget Mobile}

Before the smartphone entourage gets their panties in a bunch, this device is not meant to be a smartphone and will not have a Smartphone OS.
It's a great phone with a touchscreen and fantastic camera. It's intended audience is the young adult photo centric type of user.
Deutsche Telekom shakes economic woes, reports "good" Q3 {Engadget Mobile}

Wireless penetration levels may not be as good as VZW stateside, but overall as an international organization who is subject to the same poor economy and commodization of cell phones in general, they've done pretty damn well indeed. Like the US, they own wired infrastructure in Europe that is eroding yet they've kept their numbers on track.
T-Mobile likely to skip HSPA+, head straight to LTE {Engadget Mobile}

Yeah. I work for at&t. Although I naturally want my company to be successful, I still root for T-Mobile in order to bring balance and needed competition and I'm a big champion of LTE.
I would love to see T-Mobile be right at the forefront of brining 4G tech to the masses and give at&t a real reason to lower their prices. I'll admit it, at&t's 3G network is a joke in many areas and we've been deploying it already for years. And to think we charge Verizon prices and underdeliver!
I hope this is true. At least they have the spectrum to go forward with this unlike years past where they had to make due with 2.5G.
