NASA's new suits are one giant leap for space fashion {Engadget}

Jun 13th 2008 12:43PM This is much much more interesting, both from a tech and a cheesecake perspective...

Dean Kamen aims to clean water, generate electricity with Slingshot machine {Engadget}

Apr 23rd 2008 6:54PM $1 for the original news source that drove this article... I got tired of clicking backwards somewhere around 7 or 8 clicks in. I believe it may have started from a 29 Mar post on something called Red Ferret. http://www.redferret.net/?p=10222. But, this wasn't news, but rather a mini notes-to-self book report. Nothing new about the Slingshot on his DEKA Research website, http://www.dekaresearch.com/. In other words, no new news here, and none since his appearance on Colbert. Amy I missing anything? I'd love to learn more...

Chinese LionKing800 cellphone claims 1-year standby {Engadget Mobile}

Mar 13th 2008 12:59PM No way the battery has that capacity. Lithium content density would require a much much larger battery to get 16800 mAh... at 4.2V (on the label), that yields a little over 70Wh. The largest laptop batteries on the market right now top out around 96Wh and are much much larger. See: http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=UPB60-CN for a 68Wh battery - 10" x 6.5" x .6".

Oct 24th 2007 1:12AM why the proprietary connector instead of mini-USB?

Motorola's H375 and H680 Bluetooth headsets {Engadget Mobile}

Oct 22nd 2007 5:23PM my questions - why the need for a separate charging connector and what's wrong with a mini-usb plug? it's just another doo-hickie to lose. I don't see why it's so hard to see about the mini-USB plug - with a single mini-usb, I can charge / sync with my: phone, mp3 player, camera, external GPS, etc., etc. Why can't the headset manufacturers realize I don't want / need another cable to carry around...

Samsung's BlackJack II outed as the i617 {Engadget Mobile}

Oct 10th 2007 2:21AM how about a mini-USB charging port...?
