Apr 9th 2008 12:34PM non-exec means he's not an employee (i.e. CEO). A lot of times, companies combine CEO and Chairman of the board, making it an executive chairman (ala Zander).

Not a big deal, but it might kick the iPhone2 3G rumors down a notch, though I would think the 1 year anniversary would be a good time to announce it.
