Verizon promises increased interactivity for FiOS TV customers {Engadget}

Sep 20th 2008 11:46AM How about Verizon just promise to deploy it to more than 10 houses first! BRING IT! BRING IT!

AT&T installing utility cabinets in Naperville, giving away U-verse surprise {Engadget HD}

Sep 7th 2008 10:07PM 1) AT&T's database thinks I'm in some other zip code. Not a good sign of things to come.

2) they are installing baby DSL nodes, NOT next gen data/video networks. The last haul is via DSL to the house - that's why there is a limit of one HD feed at a time per house.

3) The top speed their internet offering goes is 10/1.5. Whoop dee doo.

4) The pricing is crap. Total crap. $125 for a "top of the line" package with 1.5 over 1.0 Internet access. Phone? $30 first line, $20 second line. Want HiDef? Yep - another $10. Want to watch it on five TVs? $5x5. So, at my house, what I'm currently paying $185 for, I'm now going to pay $125 + 50 + 10 + 25 = $210 and the bandwidth is still 1.5/1.0 - where as my $185 comes with a a static IP 6.0/1.0.

The whole point of these new technologies is to get more for same or less right? That's the marketing appeal after all.

AT&T you guys MISSED the mark big time.

I was initially bummed that Naperville was short sighted and chased you out of town, now I'm bummed you were allowed back in with such a ridiculously short offering.

Verizon - please come down here and show folks how it's done!

(and in case anyone is curious, that service is through WOW cable and AT&T's own CallVantage combo).

iPhone 3G: The Waiting Game: Part II: Redux {Engadget}

Jul 12th 2008 6:36PM This whole process IS FUCKED.

Plain and simple. What the hell did they think registering every single phone at a retail location? HELLO? MCFLY?

No wonder it's taking people four to five hours to get through a line and score one. This is ridiculous. Control your sales in another way Apple and AT&T. This is a horrible tactic that will backfire once all the true fanboyz are out of the picture.

The iPhone 3G on AT&T: we ask the burning questions {Engadget}

Jun 10th 2008 11:02PM I am one of Apple's greatest fanboys - apple since 1980 and mac 84 with about 2 new systems per year turned over.

But this is bullshit.

My cell bill is more expensive than my two voice lines, an efax account, broadband and cable put together already. Screw this.

The current SIM works in a 3G phone at 3G speeds - WHY does the Apple way have to cost us more? This is total bullshite.

Magpul FMG-9 flips from flashlight to submachine gun {Engadget}

Mar 11th 2008 2:52PM neothespian:

Well said! As soon as that bozo demo'd it as a "flashlight" at ShotShow I knew the shit would hit the fan.

The the rest of you, it's NOT a gun disguised as a flashlight. It is a short barrel rifle, that collapses into a small package. That's the idea - stock, firm platform, etc - it makes the sheeple warm and fuzzy to not see personal protection details carrying H&K UMPs - that's where this fits in.

It just so happens you can put a flashlight on it - just like any other weapon - and walk with it to light your way. But they did not intend to make it look like a flashlight. You want to see flashlight guns, look for the 12 gauge conversions of D-cell mag lights. They are WAY harder to spot as weapons and are truly a design with the intent of obfuscation.

I, for one, commend Magpul for a creative design that will ease many folks minds (those who are uncomfortable seeing weapons-clad security).

Google attacks: Android at Mobile World Congress {Engadget}

Feb 11th 2008 10:21AM I know it has potential and I'm very hopeful, but right now it looks like the ugly, forgotten, stepchild of Series60 and iPhone. What's with all the excess unused space on most screens? The icons look 90's in quality, the touchscreen is resistive - though hardware is independent. I'm still very hopeful and cheering it on, but not overly impressed at this stage.

REPORT: Cadillac CTS Coupe to start production in 2009 {Autoblog}

Jan 20th 2008 12:13PM Actually, E30, E36 and now E86 - so yea, I've had 3. I need more performance. I don't live on a track, I live on streets. The driving dynamics - after some point just have no bearing on parallel streets. If I lived near the "Dragon" then I'd want that wonderful BMW feeling, but in Chicago - just doesn't do anything for me.

I want something with serious balls, but still with a semblance of sevility, nice toys inside and comfort.

So - no offence Andrew, stick the nice try where the curves don't shine ;)

REPORT: Cadillac CTS Coupe to start production in 2009 {Autoblog}

Jan 20th 2008 2:45AM GM - slap the proper LSA (or better) motor, a V on the trunklid, proper brakes, suspension and a row-your-own 6 speed, produce it by august 2009 and I'm in!

As a third BMW M car owner (3 is enough for now), I'll RUN to my nearest caddy dealership to buy that car in V form - as long as it doesn't water down from what the 4 door CTSV is delivering!!! And please - let the lords of assembly lines allow you to hit the street no later than august 2009 - my lease is up on the bimmer then!

Office for Mac 2008 coming for Enterprise on Feb 1 {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jan 18th 2008 10:57PM To those of you with pub folders - get over it. MS is killing support for these in the next Exchange. 2007 Exchange is already a HUGE PITA to manage them, and in the famous language of MS - Public folders are being de-emphasized. Love that wording. Sounds like something Hillary Clinton would say - to anything. But, that's politics.

I'm really POd that MS is not releasing this to enterprise. As an EA holder (and direct manager of the account) I had to get mine from a less than legit site. No way I'm dumping $500 for something I already pay over $300,000 per year for. Not even $50 would be right.

Aggrevated that the Mac is a second class MS citizen all around. Someone PLEASE write a proper Exchange client.

Detroit 2008: Audi TT-S makes 265 hp look so good {Autoblog}

Jan 14th 2008 1:16PM Said before, am saying it again.

GET A CLUE AUDI!

Stuff the 4.2 direct injection engine from the RS4 in there, or, at the very least, the 4.2 from the S4 and we'll call it a proper sports car. At a whoppin 5.2 seconds to 60 this thing is a joke for that money. $47EU - what's that in USD? $70k or so? No thanks, that's GTR territory (with a 0-60 of around 3.5).

Tell Porsche oversight to go pound sand - build it anyway! Apologize all the way to the bank once you have something that you can't keep in stock afterwards.
