Rumor: Is 'The Brick' a wireless hybrid handheld-slash-Mac? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 26th 2008 7:00AM A tablet with the form factor of a netbook would be perfect for me, but I may not be the average user.
I chiefly use a computer to listen to and view media, surf the web, play some old school video games, and do light blogging. Even with a top notch keyboard, my typing speed is so abysmal that typing on an iPhone is just about as fast.
With a device like the speculated tablet, I could have a better screen, better storage, and better processing power than the iPhone. Instead of putzing around on my computer at work, and having to worry about B.B. watching me, I 'd have a nice little device with all my stuff on it that I can just throw into my purse.
Again, it'd be perfect for me, but I don't know how many other people use a computer the same way I do. ;)

Rock Band and Guitar Hero now for girls, too {Engadget}

Sep 25th 2008 9:17AM Two questions...
Has Joan Jett been notified?
...And when do we launch the offensive?

I'm gonna go buy ammo and sharpen my swords while I wait to hear back..

Yet Another Fake Tablet {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 17th 2008 12:16PM Want...So...Very...Much! If I clap hard enough will it come true? No? How about if I wave money around in front of Infinite Loop?

iPhone 101: Triple click to go to a previous song {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 16th 2008 10:01AM Golf clap for Apple...yea! (you want frenzied cheering, and underwear flung at the stage, though, it's gotta be copy/paste and the ability to edit ID3 tags..)

TUAW Poll: What's your favorite nano-chromatic color? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 10th 2008 1:00PM Green's my favorite color, but the shade on the Nano is too light. I'd like a deeper emerald green.
Of course, being a recovering goth...I'll default to black.

NEC's new 12- and 15-inch touchscreen PCs are all screen, Atom-powered {Engadget}

Aug 28th 2008 12:33PM Wow..this exactly (well, all most) what I've wanted. A small slate PC with decent capacity.
....Then I converted the Yen. It's around $2200. Ouch.

Back to hoping for a revamp of the Newton (or a large iPhone with more than 80 gigs).

The Rumor Room: iTunes Unlimited {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Aug 20th 2008 12:57PM Mmmm. Subscription? No thanks. I really like the whole "AOL Radio, for free" thing on my iPhone. I love, and even use, the ability to go straight to iTunes and buy a song if I like it.
Sure, the stations have commercials, but I take that hardest of old school actions in such a case and change the station...or simply listen to the music I bought.

...Now that disc access, on the other hand.
GIMME!!

iPhone apps we crave {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jul 18th 2008 1:17PM Customize. Summerboard. Anything that allows me to tailor the GUI and sound scheme.
Yeah, I'm picky that way. Yet I don't see Stardock gettin any iPhone love in this century. It's just not the Cupertino way.

Best of the worst: the App Store's hits and misses {Engadget}

Jul 11th 2008 10:51AM I've only tried four apps, so far, but they all kick ass.
Must disagree with you on Monkey Ball. For a phone game, it's amazing...and hazardously addictive. It'll keep me happy until they port something like American MacGee's Alice.
The free Remote app works perfectly. Makes me sad that I paid money for the one by Signal, which while nice, is far glitchier. Oh well.
Shazam works well, too. It correctly identified five out of seven songs on XM's "Fred". (one of which was by Revolting Cocks, no top fourty here, kids). Sadly, I understand, that while a free app now, there will be a charge for this in the future..(it's cool, but not that cool)
The app I've been most impressed with, though is AOL radio. The range of stations is incredibly diverse, and it allows you to tag songs you like for purchase on iTunes or AOL music. (if available).

Asus shipping 11- and 12-inch bamboo laptops in June -- Mother Jones nearly smiles {Engadget}

Apr 23rd 2008 9:14AM You can help the environment, Alex! Just plant some bamboo in your back yard to help with the bamboo shortage that's sure to come!
