SCEA's Lempel says Sony isn't playing "catch up" with Xbox Live {Engadget}
Jul 8th 2009 5:38PM they didn't say the PSN was perfect or better than XBL, but just that the gap is closer than people perceive and never stated that they would stop progressing the experience. anyone who has owned a PS3 for any extended period of time can vouch for the massive amount of improvements made to the PSN and the fact that it's come so far in such a short time is amazing. so you may be worried about them getting to comfortable with what they have already but i'm confident looking at their track record that they are far from finished.
SCEA's Lempel says Sony isn't playing "catch up" with Xbox Live {Engadget}
Jul 8th 2009 5:29PM well i personally look at achievements and trophies as a way to extend games that don't have alot of replay value. i mean i never get all the achievements/trophies in games with good multiplayer, but in solo player games it's something i generally pay attention to. at the same time, i couldn't tell you my Gamer Score or Trophy Level off the top of my head.
BioWare: EA owns Mass Effect IP (Translation: It could still come to PS3) [update] {Joystiq}
Jul 8th 2009 4:30PM well here's hoping for a Mass Effect & Mass Effect 2 Special Edition PS3 bundle since i never played the first one yet. i bet they could fit both on one Blu-Ray. it probably won't happen though but luckily i have a 360 as well so either way works.
Parents don't read Joystiq {Joystiq}
Jul 8th 2009 1:02PM i don't know. when i'm a parent, i don't know if i would mind my kids playing M-rated games (depending on what it is of course). my mom used to not let me play games that were talked about in the news like GTA III for example when i was in middle school. but even though she wouldn't buy it, i just ended up borrowing it from friend and playing it late at night. i think the main point is teaching your kids what's reality and what's not. i played all those violent games back in the day and i'm not a violent person at all. plus i anticipate still being a gamer when i'm parent so i'll probably have the M-rated games at my house already anyway.
Microsoft confirms 1 vs 100 prizes start Friday, July 10; more details about continuing beta {Joystiq}
Jul 6th 2009 5:46PM yea i live in MD. what the hell is up with that? i never really cared about our gambling laws before (they've been trying to get slots here for years) but now that they affect my gaming, i'll certainly take that into account the next time i vote.
GTA Chinatown Wars is the first Z-rated DS game in Japan {Joystiq Nintendo}
Jul 6th 2009 5:39PM i wonder how big of a deal that is in Japan since here in the US an AO ratings is almost commercial suicide since no big retailers will sell it. actually, the only AO game i've personally ever seen was GTA: San Andreas and that was just a sticker they slapped on it.....and i've been gaming since the Super Nintendo/Genesis days.
Sneak peek at Meizu M8's new user interface {Engadget Mobile}
Jul 4th 2009 10:37PM that looks really slick, iPhone knock off or not. wouldn't mind that interface on my smartphone.
Quantum team says PS3 has 'the highest specs' {Joystiq Playstation}
Jun 29th 2009 11:38PM "That's strange, considering the large number of high-profile Xbox-exclusive titles the company is known for: Dead or Alive and the original Ninja Gaiden games."
dude the original Ninja Gaiden came out on the NES. search 'Ninja Gaiden' on IGN if you don't believe me.
Pachter: WiiHD still coming, Xbox in third by 2015 {Joystiq}
Jun 29th 2009 11:28PM what's it matter? his predictions rarely come to fruition anyway.
It's no stretch that Halo: Reach could use Natal {Joystiq}
Jun 29th 2009 2:17PM i agree. i dont have a problem with games that have motion control as the advertised and main method of control, but still have the option for traditional controls as well.
