Lite-On intros 6x iHES206 internal Blu-ray reader / DVD writer {Engadget HD}
Oct 8th 2008 12:52PM Complete and utter garbage. LG has a combo HD-DVD/BluRay and DVD writer for $140 that I myself own and can attest to the fact that it plays everything flawlessly!

Now if it wrote BD media for $189....that'd be something to get my panties in a bunch over.
Rare: Avatar development started pre-Mii {Joystiq}
Sep 11th 2008 6:06PM Exactly. Just because it was in development before the release of the Wii (and thus the Mii) doesn't mean Microsoft didn't know about their existence within Nintendo. Corporate espionage is a real entity.
Even if there was no espionage and the concept of avatars is coincidental...the end design seems very Mii inspired.
Panasonic launches PT-AE3000 1080p home cinema projector {Engadget}
Sep 3rd 2008 4:19PM Totally agreed sir. It looks like a great unit indeed but the AE2000 should suffice for most. I am in the market for a PJ and waited for CEDIA new product announcements to see what would happen to existing model prices. Anyone know historically when the 'old' model prices tend to fall? Is it usually right away after an announcement or do we still have to wait a bit?

Aug 26th 2008 1:13PM Maybe because they spend the majority of their time in a pocket? Naw.....that can't be it.
iTunes pays tribute to Isaac Hayes {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Aug 14th 2008 9:31PM Exactly Travis. Exactly.
TUAW and/or Apple are calling it a tribute page. Bullshit. They know full well his death will spark people's interest in him and subsequently, his music. The smart business thang to do would be put all his music up front...easy to find. All to capitilize on the publicity surrounding his death.
Apple doesn't have to come right out and say it like that, but they most definitely shouldn't call it a tribute.
In-flight calling ban passes hurdle in House {Engadget}
Aug 1st 2008 12:32PM Sir.....it is not just you :) Admittedly though, I didn't think of it till you pointed it out. Damn you.....I still have to wait 5 more months for:
We're running out of time!
Tell me where the bomb is!
That isn't the right play!
Don't make me hurt you!
Netflix on the Xbox 360 gets demonstrated on video {Engadget}
Jul 22nd 2008 10:58AM There is no sadder form of male overcompensation than when a geek lists all of their awesome equipment for whatever they are into, be it audio, video, photo, etc. No one cares. List all the "vage" you've been into and then we can talk...
Dr. Dre's Beats headphones keep they heads ringin' for $350 {Engadget}
Jul 22nd 2008 10:30AM Those are colloquialisms. You clearly have no actual idea what a racial slur is towlie.
ZOMG! Online survey hints at Blu-ray Xbox 360 {Xbox 360 Fanboy}
Jul 7th 2008 3:06PM I know this is an old topic and no one will read this but I guarantee the 360 will have a Blu Ray player. I don't get the feeling that MS thinks "hey we have much better game exclusivity than the PS3."
What I'm implying is that MS will do whatever they can to level the playing field between the 2 consoles and not just rely on software. Releasing ONLY a Blu-Ray add on drive isn't enough. They have to release an integrated Blu Ray drive so that the 360 is equal or very close to PS3 in terms of cost/benefit.
iPhone anti-interference shield puts an end to buzzing speakers {Engadget}
Jun 25th 2008 8:34PM As long as any 3G phone supports GSM too, you will always have the buzz. Its inherent by design. Designers try to choke it as much as is reasonable (from a design cost standpoint) but it cant really be eliminated.
