Fujitsu keeps the Centrino 2 party going with six new LifeBooks {Engadget}
Jul 15th 2008 2:37PM I'm writing now to ask if there's any news of a successor to the 1610, which was the 1510's successor.
@ShadowKain: Fujitsu's brand recognition in the US doesn't match its reliability and its popularity outside the US. I've got a 1510 and it's excellent. The 1610's even better -- with more screen area. Great tablet, and amazing (7 hour) battery life with the extended battery. Super light, as laptops go.
People + Processors + Popular Content = Loud3r {Download Squad}
Jun 17th 2008 1:31PM I use watch3r a lot -- TV's a good space for this mode of content aggregation. Movies, too (screen3r). Not so broad as to be unnavigable, not so niche as to be better handled by bloggers. And since I have the nav of those sites down, when it comes to less familiar subjects that intrigue me (men's fashion, video games), I have a leg up when I venture into those related sites.
HP Pavilion tx2500z Puma-based tablet PC available now {Engadget}
Jun 11th 2008 6:27PM How is 4.59 pounds an ultraportable? What does that make the Fujitsu 1510 and 1610 machines?

Feb 6th 2008 4:10PM Yowza. This thing froze my browser (Firefox on a Mac PowerBook G4) like nobody's business. I've un-installed for now.
Fujitsu's LifeBook P1620 is lighter than (MacBook) Air {Engadget}
Jan 18th 2008 10:28AM I have the 1510d, a predecessor to this laptop. I'd buy the new one in a second -- if only my current one wasn't so well made that I have no way to rationalize the purchase.
With the 6-cell battery, I've had between 5 and 6 hours on an airplane.
Using the touchscreen has been a revelation -- the whole gestural way of working with your files becomes natural very quickly. And the way the screen folds back on the keyboard makes reading a pleasure.
It's my main computer. When I travel, it fits easily in my bag. And at home, I just plug in a larger, secondary screen and a full-size keyboard. I run plenty of programs simultaneously, and rarely if ever have a hiccup.
Asus' Eee PC gets dissected {Engadget}
Nov 3rd 2007 11:44AM Anyone know where to get one of these things in the US aside from mail order? CompUSA and BestBuy sites aren't bringing up any info.
Asus' Eee PC gets dissected {Engadget}
Nov 3rd 2007 11:24AM The author didn't misuse the phrase -- do a search for "idiom 'nothing if not'" and you'll find plenty of examples, right back to Shakespeare.
The phrase "it's nothing if not thorough" means that the subject's "thorough-ness" is so central to its being, that were you to take away its thorough-ness, nothing would be left.
Just because computer languages developed over the course of decades are called languages doesn't mean that you can subject human-spoken and -written languages developed over millennia to the same binary, logic-gate tests.
Google Reader now reports feed subscriber numbers, offers Publisher Tips page {Download Squad}
Feb 16th 2007 6:59PM I think that's a bit disingenuous of Google to suggest that the number of subscribers appeals only to publishers, not to readers. I use the number of subscribers as a means to gauge a feed's popularity relative to similar sites.
