Jul 18th 2008 2:02PM While the interior is much better than the Dodge Journey....
(and I'm going somewhere with this of course)
What's up with both having accents from my two-tone maroon over red '79 Plymouth Horizon for the speedo deal?

Jul 18th 2008 11:50AM They could at least throw us a bone with a wagon version to make up for the loss of the magnum.
Wagons aren't supposed to look that awesome, so a sebring wagon might actually work. ;)

Jul 16th 2008 12:56PM Those are cute and all, but where is the Wing replacement?
I'm off contract and so ready to fly over to either Sprint of AT&T, whichever gets the touch pro or xperia first.

Jul 16th 2008 10:32AM Well, Subaru calls the outback an SUV (for now at least) if that's any indication.
I'm thinking wagon may be a cool word shortly if gas prices keep rising, just not 'family truckster'

Jul 10th 2008 12:12PM Well, it's appearance will still be vanilla, but not artificial vanilla flavoring.
It's a lot more in the direction of the Camry, which is a good thing for any company wanting to see boatloads of cars. That late-model passat look went out as soon as the new passat came out.
Here's to hoping they stuff a diesel in it along with the AWD!!!!
GM brands might not go under the ax, but competing models will {Autoblog}
Jul 9th 2008 10:33AM I'm calling this one early...huge mistake for GM and Chrysler.
It's sad that they're still operating under the assumption that people will stick with their company after they reduce the styling choices and model options. It's as if they've forgotten that there are other car makers out there fighting for their customers.
My suggestion is to engineer the vehicles to have the same interiors, but more variable body paneling to more easily and inexpensively changing a car's styling. Perhaps it's time to rewrite some archaic rules on crash testing to allow for reskinning as long as the core safety cage of cars doesn't change.
Chevy Volt's gas tank gets downsized, range drops 300 miles {Autoblog Green}
Jul 9th 2008 9:19AM You have to admit it's a little humorous that they're talking about not needing to go that far because we rarely do, when GM has spent YEARS feeding us the junk about everyone needing super-equipped SUVs, while
GM shrinks Volt's gas tank, range drops from 600 to 360 miles {Autoblog}
Jul 8th 2008 8:26PM That golf battery/diesel thing is sounding pretty good right about now.
Just hoping VW can somehow beat GM to the punch with the all-battery in-city 30-40 miles, with the small diesel for essentially highway trips where the diesel shines. I'd be all over that, especially with 4 doors and a hatch. ;)
sorry, but the volt is gonna be just too big to be the city commuter they're making it out to be. Wish them the best though, and hopefully any lessons learned will be remembered for future development.

Jul 8th 2008 1:41PM It's going to take the Asian imports along with Audi and possibly Volvo to cause this. Seems like BMW and Benz are determined to keep diesels in the higher end segments.
If and when Audi/Volvo/Honda/Subaru bring their diesels across their ranges, you may see more offerings from those two.
Then, about 5 years after that, Ford/GM/Chrysler will decided to give us diesel in something other than a giant SUV or pickup! ;)
Volvo still wants to compete with the Germans, despite rumors of sale {Autoblog}
Jul 7th 2008 1:02PM They could take the rug out from MB and BMW by offering diesels in all of their offerings down to the C30. They'd instantly become the luxury imports that get really good mileage, leaving you to buy the high end other imports if you want anything with a diesel in it.
Reminds me of another reason Chrysler is going down the tubes. If they could only barter a deal with VW to get their new diesel engine in the Caliber/Compass/Patriot and midsize, then people would care a little less how craptastic the interiors are, because of how good the fuel economy is.
