Nokia N900 undergoes extensive preview, N97 found sobbing in a corner {Engadget}

Oct 1st 2009 12:02PM What a horrible and misleading write up by Vlad. The review is overly very positive yet you do nothing but bash and almost completely fail to mention anything software related, which is the whole buzz about the N900 anyways. Yes the hardware is very nice but Maemo 5 being on a phone here is what makes the N900 noteworthy and stand out as it will be the only maemo 5 device out. Not to mention that the information you used to point out several of the negative features of the N900 are out of date and have been dismissed by Nokia as not being applicable to the retail version. This whole write up is just bad.

Zune HD commercial hits major selling points, forgets to include unsettling female spokesperson {Engadget}

Sep 16th 2009 9:07PM Looks very cool I went to buy one at Best Buy today and they were sold out already. He said the next shipment is Thursday so I guess I'll try than. The deciding factor for me was using the zune 4.0 software on my phone. $15 a month for their, I think spectacular, distribution model is a very fair price. It really may revolutionize the way I listen to music.

Archos 5 Internet Tablet makes an honest PMP out of Android {Engadget}

Sep 15th 2009 2:02PM Just started using the zune software and so far really enjoying it and my 14 day free trial period. I would love this media player but than again I don't see it working with zune 4.0 like a zune would assuming it syncs at all. If I enjoy the trail it will make purchasing my next media player much harder to do. Why can't everything just work with everything?

Zune 4.0 software is out, ready to fulfill your dreams (update: kills "squirting") {Engadget}

Sep 15th 2009 10:59AM First time using this software and I'm really happy with it. It updated all my music with tags, album art etc and it did so very quickly I thought. Good interface though not completely intuitive but very efficient. So far loving the zune pass and it seems like a great way to go about getting music in your life. So far I am impressed enough to be considering a zune hd, keeping the zune pass and making this my musical ecosystem. It's still early but my initial impressions are very good. Hopefully I don't find too many annoyances after the two week trial is over.

Sep 14th 2009 12:32PM Office would be so beneficial to me this semester. I'd love not to have to drive 30 minutes to campus than 30 minutes back to do a report.

Nokia's Ovi Software Development Kit released to invited and excited Javascripters {Engadget}

Sep 4th 2009 12:48PM To be fair Nokia has good reason for falling behind. They purchased the company Trolltech a bit ago and plan on using their development platform which supposedly will enable the source code for applications to be platform independent while using C++. This coupled with the fact they are going to integrate their apps for two different ecosystems, symbian and maemo, we see a pretty different approach here. I think Nokia will do fine here and be quite the powerhouse in the app world in the next couple years. I doubt we'll see them overtake Apple any time soon but globally I imagine things are looking pretty good, assuming execution goes well, for them.
