Nov 22nd 2008 3:02PM I still have fond memories for my Treo 600, just not so much that I want to relive the exact same experience with a Centro. This isn't rocket science here. If you don't change or improve (evolve), you die. Whoever is left at Palm needs to get that new Palm OS out and pray that it's enough to turn the company around. If not, then you might as well lay off ALL of the employees now.
It's too bad that a company that innovative (back in the day) never found good management to keep it going and growing.

Nov 18th 2008 1:42AM I talked to a guy at one of the Telus stores and he said that the reason why the Pro was delayed for so long (and is still delayed), was because the Diamond came out with a huge glitch. Some people couldn't even get the thing to start up. So after paying your bills to Telus, you had to send the thing off for RMA for 4 weeks before you got your 'brand new phone' to play with.
They said they couldn't afford to have the same thing happen with the Pro, so the delays continue on until they are sure they have something to work with.
That said, I wasn't going to wait for a possibly buggy phone from Telus, so I bought my Pro from Bell on Friday. And Derrick, amen brother. Canadians get so screwed over with their plans, and locked in Contracts. Not much you can do about it though; hoping the bandwidth auctions will invite some new competition into the fold though....

Nov 15th 2008 2:14AM The Touch Pro was just released in Canada today on Bell. I talked to the Telus dude and he said that they still don't even have a launch date (it was supposed to be months ago), but he said that they delayed it because the Diamond was causing so many problems for them. It apparently had such a huge bug that people would have an hooped phone right out of the box and then have to wait 4 weeks for the RMA to return to them. They delayed the Pro to make sure it didn't happen again.
So maybe the delay for Altel's Diamond is for good reason.
