Anxious Sprint users ordering HTC Hero now through telesales {Engadget Mobile}

Oct 8th 2009 8:29PM I was just able to order one on the first try. Very pleasant Canadian telesales rep, billed to account, $329 with no rebates (I'm not upgrade eligible.)

Verizon's 2009: BlackBerrys, HTCs, netbooks, and loads of data {Engadget Mobile}

Jan 29th 2009 6:52PM I'm just glad that Verizon is finally not getting good device exclusives anymore; that was the one thing that pissed me off about being a Sprint customer.

Sprint affiliate gets litigious to block Clearwire WiMAX deal {Engadget Mobile}

May 12th 2008 6:19PM iPCS is basically horrible - every interaction they've had with Sprint has been adversarial. Sprint needs to drop them like a bad habit if they want to be successful.

RIM's BlackBerry Bold / 9000 gets official {Engadget Mobile}

May 12th 2008 12:26PM I really like that interface font. I wonder what it is.

iPhone to become subsidized, non-exclusive? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

May 5th 2008 11:19PM Um, T-Mobile is a GSM carrier in the US.

Also, the exclusivity agreement may have only applied to the first-generation iPhone, not to the 3G product. If AT&T didn't notice/negotiate for that, then Apple surely can release the new phone unlocked, if they so choose. None of us have read the agreement and know what it contains.

New "Get a Mac" ad: Office Stress {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Apr 9th 2008 9:41PM Yeah, it's funny because PC Office & Mac Office aren't compatible anymore (Mac Office can't open VBA macros) and that Mac Office is absolutely abysmal. Office 2004 in Rosetta *and* Office 2007 in VMWare both launch faster than the "native" Office 2008.

Downgrading your 2.0 iPhone from the Pink Screen of Death {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Apr 8th 2008 2:13PM Wow, there is a ton of misinformation in this comments thread:

a) The "illicit" 2.0 firmware is the same (identical md5sums) as the "real" 2.0 firmware I have access to as part of the dev program.
b) There are tools, public tools, that let you install it without having to worry about the PSOD
c) If you have the illicit firmware installed with those tools, your phone will be working fine, whereas legit developers are the ones who's phones aren't working now.
d) The 2.0 firmware is laughably buggy and extremely slow. It isn't worth hacks to get it on your phone unless you need it to develop apps.

iLiberty frees my iPhone {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Mar 29th 2008 11:18AM iTunes backs up everything, so you're fine with that. The question is really why this app needs to exist when ZiPhone is around. ZiPhone can activate, jailbreak, unlock, or any other combination or any of those.

The Speed Download - Macheist saga {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Feb 24th 2008 3:07PM " You can upgrade to new versions using official, non promo releases through Yazsoft.com, or Speed Download's auto updating."

Sounds pretty straightforward to me; you can *upgrade* to *new versions* using auto updating.

Since SD5 was offered through auto updating, it should have been free to MH purchasers, fullstop, sorry, no argument.

Skeevy skeevy skeevy, and I've already deleted the app.
