Amazon's Kindle 2 in the wild? {Engadget}
Oct 3rd 2008 10:10PM Seriously WTF? Why keep including a keyboard on a reader? I want one on my iPhone, but I definitely don't want one on an eBook reader. A touchscreen keyboard is perfect for the limited use of typing out the occasional title... Get rid of the keyboard Amazon.
How would you change Apple's iPhone 3G? {Engadget}
Aug 2nd 2008 11:05AM A damn indicator light. It is not rocket science.
Better bluetooth support for more devices (like a keyboard).
Auto 3G/Wifi on-and-off by location and app usage.
A way for iPhone apps to sync their files easily.
Ridax first company to overprice iPhone 3G charging adapter {Engadget}
Jul 31st 2008 10:32AM If this doesn't have a regulator for voltage, then you won't get consistent voltage if you are using it with a car adapter for example.
More importantly, why didn't they make this universal dock compatible so that it just mounts in there and has some support?
Apple settles visual voicemail lawsuit, licenses Klausner's patents {Engadget Mobile}
Jun 17th 2008 3:28PM I had something similar on my Japanese phone years ago, so I am surprised they didn't just kill the patent validity. This stuff is stone age anyway with Spinvox and Simulscribe.
Virgin Mobile looking to merge with Helio? {Engadget}
May 8th 2008 5:56PM Might not be too bad... Virgin already has the low-end, so they would not overlap too much. The real problem with Helio was that despite the US market being totally backwards and slow, Helio never really pushed the high-end tech stuff as fast as necessary, and just as they started to get a bit of traction with the Ocean, the iPhone gutted them.
The Korean and Japanese market cell phones are still insanely more advanced, with digital TV, DVRs, full GPS, 5mp cameras, etc... and that is what it would have taken to get the US market going for Helio as a high-end carrier (and this was years ago).
Garmin Nuvifone hitting AT&T for $500 plus? {Engadget Mobile}
May 1st 2008 11:00AM If the iPhone 3G has true GPS, this thing will be dead in the water.
Nike+ going WiFi and 3G, headed to iPhone {Engadget}
Apr 11th 2008 11:47AM Bluetooth would be sufficient. ANT+Sport would be awesome. Wifi seems hugely unnecessary.
Shots, specs of TAG Heuer's Vertu killer? {Engadget Mobile}
Apr 7th 2008 10:29AM Wow that is not attractive at all.
How would you change Apple's Time Capsule? {Engadget}
Mar 29th 2008 9:40AM @Shane- temp too hot = less reliability. Sort of a problem with a backup device?
It should have been bigger and had RAID capability. It is marginally reliable backup and can't serve media to other devices. A regular Airport box and an Infrant/QNAP is a much better solution in so many ways that even though there is a cost difference, it is a no-brainer.
Thinkware iNAVI K2's 3D maps are just like being there {Engadget}
Mar 27th 2008 12:54PM Obviously we wouldn't then. But the computer would still need 3d mapping capability.
