LeapFrog's Crammer makes flash cards antiquated, is perfectly named {Engadget}

Oct 13th 2008 10:32PM What sort of CPU does it have? And what's the screen resolution (doesn't look high, though...)?

(Read: Is it worth trying to hack?)

4.0 (95)
4.1 (98)

Keepin' it real fake, part CLXIII: AirPort Express gets expressly aped {Engadget}

Oct 6th 2008 4:01PM Not only that, but my former employer had a bunch of Dells with CNet-made RTL8139a network cards. So even Dell uses their stuff, it seems.

Lotus developing efficient two-stroke OMNIVORE engine {Autoblog}

Aug 12th 2008 2:43PM The 2-stroke has always been, at least in theory, more efficient than the 4-stroke, because the 2-stroke has a power stroke every time the piston reaches TDC, and because there's (usually - 2-stroke diesels, OTOH, usually have exhaust valves and a supercharger, that turned out to be more efficient for them) no valvetrain.

The most thermodynamically efficient IC engines are giant 2-stroke diesels.

Lotus developing efficient two-stroke OMNIVORE engine {Autoblog}

Aug 12th 2008 2:39PM It's most likely for applications where single-cylinder engines are normally used, such as scooters.

Palm's Treo 800w now available online from Sprint {Engadget}

Jul 13th 2008 3:37PM Might have something to do with FrankenGarnet being horribly outdated, and having very poor support for the features on this phone. On the bright side, the rumor mill says that this hardware might be what Nova debuts on...

(And, before the Palm OS fanboys get offended, I do like it - I'm typing this on my Centro - I'm just willing to admit that it is outdated.)

HP's Quick Calc can't fool us {Engadget}

Jun 11th 2008 10:47AM I'll stick with my HP 50g, kthx.

Atom-powered D945GCLF Mini-ITX motherboard now available {Engadget}

May 20th 2008 8:28AM That's the northbridge heatsink, not the CPU heatsink. ;)

Alltel commits to LTE, adds 1M customers in Q1 {Engadget}

May 15th 2008 8:35PM Not only that, but much of their network is AMPS!

(And, I think that's a huge reason why they didn't shut down AMPS when the FCC allowed it - because if they shut down their AMPS towers, they'd lose their "largest network" claim.)

Sharp reveals world's most densely powerful methanol fuel cell -- still can't buy it {Engadget}

May 15th 2008 10:46AM Actually, methanol makes you go blind before killing you.
