Historically looking it probably won't have much to do with the contents of the show and nor should it. Still, nice to see corporate giants supporting blogs. Especially in this case, where Nokia is giving its support to an American blog. A healthy strategy to conquest some of that "mindshare"...

The battle has just begun. The past two years don't mean much, because still, most of the customer base has no interest in app stores. They don't even own a smartphone, yet.
All that is about change, now that smartphones are coming down in price, and Nokia is cleary in the lead of that race.
The same exact situation happened decades ago. Nobody thought Microsoft would get anywhere with DOS/Windows. IBM was huge, Apple was leading with the graphical UI, etc, but as soon as MS started shipping their products with every frickin PC available they soon took over the whole market.
It's not about who gets there first, or who has the best stuff, it's about who ships it to the most customers. There won't be any clear winners or losers in the next few years, but yes, ultimately there will be.

Sep 4th 2009 9:10AM Hardware wise the Booklet 3G is very much the kind of product that Apple could/should have brought to the market. Of course they would have added some extra mumbo jumbo in the specs and shipped it with some revolutionary version of their operating system, but still.
Guys who like Apple and dislike Nokia bash this product largely because of that. In their hearts they know Apple has to sooner or later come up with a cheapish mobile computer kind of thing, a netbook. Now that Nokia introduces this beautiful looking gadget their reaction is "how dare you! Who do you think you are?"
The tablet, or whatever special hardware Apple's secret team of chip makers are working on, won't be enough, because it's still gonna be "just" a luxury device. On top of that, Nokia already came up with the N900, and their future Maemo lineup is more than capable of taking on with what ever mobile computing Apple is planning to roll out.
The Booklet 3G, if priced below the 600 dollar mark, will be a premium netbook with a tolerable price. If Nokia manages to get a comprehensive carrier support for this thing it will definitely sell nicely.
