Phil Schiller on Windows 7: 'No matter how you look at it, it's still Windows' {Engadget}

Oct 15th 2009 1:01PM Talk about setting up the argument. Phil's saying that nearly all people don't want to back up anything before upgrading while it's known industry wide that backing up your files before upgrading is actually better and you'll get a much cleaner install and higher performance after you're done. Good luck trying to explain that to iFan's since most don't even realize iTunes and iPhoto make a copy of anything you import to them.

LG's magical sliding fridge drawers: how did we ever live without them? {Engadget}

Jul 31st 2009 3:27PM I don't care how nice LG's are, they are a pain to repair and I will never buy another one again. Unlike most appliance companies, LG pours an epoxy type liquid onto their circuit boards that hardens and prevents anyone from doing any repair work on them, even if it's a small fuse replacement.

This of course forces consumers to go through LG authorized repair which costs 3X more than some local GE repair guy that would have been able to fix your fridge using any GE part.

Denon outs 2009 line of Blu-ray players, AV receivers and headphones {Engadget}

May 11th 2009 4:45PM My head is not big, lol. The screw that holds the ear cup to the head band is put in upside down, so eventually gravity will do the work for you. This coupled with the fact that the ear cup rotates around this screw means it will eventually become lose. It is also made of very weak metal composite so it must have rotated a big too much and broken off. Again, just terrible design and warranty stinks for such a high quality product.

Denon outs 2009 line of Blu-ray players, AV receivers and headphones {Engadget}

May 11th 2009 3:24PM My experience with Denon headphones (not earphones) are terrible. I own the AH-D5000 and the quality worse than anything else for a 700 dollar headphone. The screw that holds the ear cup to the head band bracket kept falling off. After twice getting this fixed, the screw has now broken off with half inside the bracket (think door key broken while opening door). Be warned, price does not equal quality.
