What is this Nokia with American 3G? {Engadget Mobile}

Apr 27th 2007 11:56AM Ty for clearing that out rich, i never knew that the frequencies "Overlap", always under the impression that the telco's use different bands to continue their medievil rule over subscribers.

& yes, n95 wont work with us 3g. i.e, you will not be able to make video calls or use it for hi-speed data except EDGE (which frankly, does not cut it) or WiFi.

A US version of n95 is a rumour, lets see.

China Mobile buys Paktel, begins quest for world domination {Engadget Mobile}

Jan 30th 2007 12:26AM I really dont see the point to this.
Paktel is the 4th best carrier - at best!.
It was originally a TDMA opperator & GSM is the popular choice in these parts, Cable & Wireless threw in the towel & the company ended up with Millicom.
They got a GSM license in 2003-2004, somewhat dubiously, (Telenor paid $300 Million for their's,while the general belief is that Paktel got a fraction of that cost - since they were already in the market).

With 3 other carriers offering much better services at competetive prices, I cannot see how China Mobile can make money off of a company that has a small user base, poor coverage, basic and unreliable service etc.

Seeing that they paid $284 Mill, when only a GSM license costs $300 Mill, it seemed like a bargain to them for expanding the company portfolio outside the mainland.

KTF's thinnish EV-K150 slider {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 2nd 2006 5:17PM I know its not nice to poke fun @ ppl (ESP their looks!),
But doesnt that model resemble the "ghost" in those chain letters ppl send?

Just a lil make up (Or lack of it), & she should be all set - "Convincing" the living daylights of potential KTF customers :P

Barrage of HTCs rumored in the pipeline {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 2nd 2006 5:07PM The "Trinity" looks HOTT!!. Surprised i missed it.

Im gonna continue to wait for the N80 (Sad!, i know :().

I thought i had moved on after the never ending delays by Nokia & the N72 seems more suited for me, But after playing around with a mock up of the N80 last week. WOW. It looks (Black) & feels awsome. A tad too thick though + i hear the batt life is a deal breaker.

Lets see.

On topic though, all my friends complain about Win Mo 5, even though its better than previous versions, it pales infront of Symbian ease of use and functionality.

India announces plans to develop robot army {Engadget}

May 18th 2006 11:21AM # 10 = Hill-airity.

Back on topic,

Im a Paki. Read this 2-3 days ago. Good on India... but this wont be happening till @least a decade.
It will cost em "x" Billion $'s which, as everyone else has pointed out, could go to better use.

How will Pak respond?

They'll just wait for Ind/Korea to develop these things. Buy/steal a few, Give em to our Chinese brothers & end up purchasing them for 1/100000th of what it would cost to build these things from scratch :P. Horrah for reverse engineering!!

Oh & Bush is an idiot. Universal Fact! :D

The Engadget & Joystiq Interview: Nintendo's Perrin Kaplan {Engadget}

Nokia keeps 'em coming: possible N83 spotted {Engadget Mobile}

May 2nd 2006 7:07AM Aight Nokia, You guys are really pissing me off now :@. Ive been using my old 8890 since Jan (gave my 7610 to someone) thinking "Ill just get the n80 when it comes". Then i read @ Mobile review that n80 has a crappy old processor & the initial reviews have been lukewarm, so i think "Hmm...ill just get the n72. Looks good + has features that appeal to me".

Now ure telling me that ppl investing EUR600+ in a phone will be banging their heads in 6 months cause ure upgrade is WAY better than the original ever was!! ? WTH!!!

& @ this rate, there will be a post on Engadget, sometime OCT/NOV saing "Possible n84 spotted" : 7mp Camera, UMTS, wifi (the latest generation then), 8gb Flash mem, 3inch 800x600 screen, Bluetooth 3.0, Micro sd (or w/e the new 'standard' is)......& we'll all be droooling....Sad! c_O

Toshiba HD-A1 HD DVD player goes topless {Engadget}

Apr 16th 2006 8:10PM #7, those things gonna cost ya what? $700 max. & this things going for $1000? Hmmm....

Oh & #2. So you're an old geezer eh?

Thats too bad. The sad part though is,
what a horrible life you must have had.

No one ever taught you any restraint. I dont like the stupid advert either, but engadget is not run by some rich kids who wanna do community service during spring break. They have to earn a living....via ad revenue.

Dont like what they serve? Pay em to replace it with something more pleasent.

Better yet, take it somewhere else.
