Casino Player Magazine - Survey Results {Card Squad}
Aug 4th 2006 5:30AM It's the time of the year that the polls come out --- the results of the reader surveys in Midwest Gaming & Travel and Casino Player magazines.
I always find the results fascinating as I look at who readers have chosen as the best casino in a given area, who has the best video poker, the best player rewards and so on. There are some built-in biases in the process. Casinos in high-population areas have an advantage over those with smaller customer bases. Temptation for casinos to do a little ballot-box stuffing is strong, though John Busam, publisher at Midwest Gaming & Travel, care is taken to weed out suspicious ballots.
Free "Mel Gibson" arrest ringtone available for BlackBerry {BBHub}
Aug 4th 2006 5:28AM interesting? Gibson was born in Peekskill, New York, the sixth of ten children born to Hutton Gibson (whose parents were U.S. businessman John Hutton Gibson, and Irish-Australian opera singer Eva Mylott) and Anne Reilly Gibson (who was born in the parish of Columcille, County Longford, Ireland). The family also adopted a child, bringing the total number of children in the family to eleven. One of Mel's younger brothers, Donal, is also an actor. His unusual first name comes from a 5th-century Irish saint, Mel, who was the founder of the diocese of Ardagh, which contains most of his mother's native county.

More or less TV {PVR Wire}
Aug 4th 2006 5:18AM It can be guaranteed that if you give up channel surfing, you will watch less TV.
* Never just turn on the TV and watch whatever is on.
* Only ever turn it on if you have first looked at the TV Guide and specifically decided to watch a particular program.
* When that program is over, turn the TV off. If your TV has sleep timer, set it for the length of the program.
* If you still want to watch TV, consult the Guide again and choose a specific program.
* If nothing grabs you, go do something else.
